The Full Moon in Leo: Diva Moon

This Full Moon can show you how to be an absolute, gold-standard showstopper. But to make it work you’ll have to do things a little differently and accept some outside input.

The upcoming (February 7th) Full Moon in Leo will bring us detachment versus drama. Intensely personal emotions versus cool intellect. Leo is the sign that represents ego and self-awareness. Full Moons are always emotional so we can expect this one to roar about individual wants and needs that have been building up. However, it will oppose a Sun/Mercury conjunction in detached Aquarius (the sign of the group). The desire to be recognized will conflict with the realization (Mercury in Aquarius) that there’s a great big world out there and individual needs don’t mean much. Or do they?

Some questions you might be confronted with on this Full Moon:

  • How badly do you want to stand out and what are you going to do about it?
  • How important is it for you to get your way in a certain scenario?
  • What do you have to offer that makes you special?

Full Moons are about culminations so these questions will have been brewing for awhile. You’ll have a choice about how to resolve things; charge ahead like a diva or rationalize all the juice out of your amazing moment. Not much of a choice, is it? So here’s what I always say about oppositions: find the middle ground. Not easy during a super-charged Full Moon but think about what Leo and Aquarius have in common. They both stand out. One is about ego (Leo) and the other is about liberation from ego (Aquarius). Aquarius is so far out there that being number 1 or receiving applause doesn’t matter anymore and that’s what makes Aquarius special.

But this tide will pull you towards subjectivity. Is there a way you can involve others (Aquarius)? Can you step back from yourself, just a tiny bit, and get some perspective (Mercury in Aquarius)? Can you remain open to outside inspiration/observations (Sun/Mercury in Aquarius)?

Those with planets between 16 and 18 degrees Leo and Aquarius will feel this Full Moon intensely.
