Good Riddance To Saturn in Libra

"Sleeping Beauty" by Gustave Dore

Enough with Saturn in Libra already. He enters Scorpio on October 5th. Good riddance, right?

Well, almost.

If you have planets or angles (cusps of the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th Houses) between 22 and 29 degrees Libra, Aries, Cancer or Capricorn, you’ll feel Saturn’s restrictions between now and October. Saturn is currently moving backwards (retrograde) in Libra, and those last few degrees will feel the pinch. This spring and summer may be a grind for some of you.

Saturn retrograde can feel like one step forward, two steps back. You work your butt off to establish (Saturn) something, but lose something else in the process. Libra balances one thing against another and Saturn’s karmic rules can make that balance excruciatingly fine. This is not a time when you get to have it all. And you’re right…it’s not fair.

No matter how painful Saturn’s limits are, know that he leaves you with exactly what you need. This will sound cruel when you lose something or someone. But this is when you remind yourself of Saturn’s purpose; to focus your attention on the essentials. The Libra area of your chart is where Saturn wants you to dig in, one last time, and work with what’s left. “Work” is key here because that’s how you get on Saturn’s good side. Find your authority (Saturn has gifted you with some by this point). Use it. Focus on what you can control and let the rest go.

Your reward? You’ll come out of this with something (an enhanced bond with your partner, platinum grade independence, a take-no-prisoners goal, etc.) that is hard as diamonds. Saturn always rewards those who work with his limits.

Saturn goes direct in Libra on June 25th.

  1. Bree says:

I’m so excited for this! Libra is my ascendant (3.5) straddled by Jupiter and Saturn. However, Pluto is at 22 degrees Libra (thankfully the outermost edge of this remaining influence). Any advice? I’ve been a very dutiful student of both Saturn and Pluto the last couple of years (and Uranus too). I’m ready for the fruits of all this painful labor!!! :-) In my Tarot work, I’ve been pulling a lot of the Sun and Star recently, as well as the World and the Wheel of Fortune, so hopefully this means good things are in the works. I’m not sure how they could not be!

    • Nadia says:

Saturn passing over your AC into the lower quadrant of your chart means a shift to internal subjects…the focus will be more on family, your past and childhood rather than external accomplishments. It’s part of the Saturn cycle so best advice is to shoulder the responsibilities where your time and energy is demanded. Don’t worry about external accomplishments so much (once Saturn passes over your IC you’ll feel a pull towards the outer world and you’ll know it’s time to externalize your energy). This is a general trend and will modified by other transits and progressions so you can certainly still make your mark on the out world. But the real work will be internal until Saturn passes over your IC.

      • Bree says:

When will it pass over IC? And what about pluto at 22?

        • Nadia says:

What sign/degree is your IC at?
Transiting Saturn over your Pluto can crystallize transformations by focusing your need for change. It can also restrict changes if you approach them with fear (Saturn). So Saturn on your Pluto will confront you with fears about control (and giving up control). Best advice with this influence is to confront whatever happens which it sounds like you’ve been doing anyway. I’m not sure from your comment if Pluto is in your 12th or 1st house but if it’s a 12th House transit the work will be internal. 1st House will be public and obvious.
Also, Saturn over your Pluto can challenge your power (Pluto) with external authority (Saturn). So any issues you have with external authority will need to be dealt with. You can get more information from natal aspects to your Pluto. Trines and sextiles (in your chart) to your Pluto can act as release points or enablers that will help you work through this. Also, remember that when you push against a Saturn transit, Saturn will push back. So you need to release (Pluto) all ways of expressing your power that are outmoded/fear driven. Saturn’s transit will focus you on the method of expressing your power that is healthiest.

          • Bree says:

My ascendant is 3.5 degrees Libra. Pluto is in my first house (22 degrees Libra). My fourth house cusp is at 4.3 Capricorn.

Wow, that sounds kind of intense. It is what I’m doing (working with control issues and authority), but in addition to letting go, I’ve also had to really work to establish healthy boundaries (for the first time in my life) and learn when to say no (which is a form of pushing back). Complicated (at least semantically/conceptually).

          • Nadia says:

Saturn will cross over your IC around January 24th, 2018. Between now and then you’ll be establishing a new foundation. You can certainly incorporate new relationships, goals, etc. into your life during this time period. You’ll just find that whatever comes your way will emphasize internal work and increase your focus on putting down roots and building security.

Yes, Saturn conjunct Pluto is intense. But the greater the intensity, the greater the rewards. Establishing healthy boundaries for the first time in your life is major and something to be proud of.

  2. mary beth says:

transiting saturn at 28′ is squaring my jupiter in the 9th at 28′. you read my mind, ‘its just not fair.’ and its my 9th i am trying to activate, how ironic. but it helps a lot to know a bit of the why behind it all. libra occupies my 11 house for a few degrees, takes up the whole 12th and is my ascendent up to about the 6th degree. should i interpret this for my 12th or my 1st house? and am i one of those who have to sludge along through october? bummer!
would it be helpful to check the sabian symbol or to study the characteristics of the last 3rd of libra? (seems fair that i should be able to exert some authority in the knowledge department if i can and maybe earn a get outa jail early card..?) any and all advice welcome.

    • Nadia says:

You would interpret it for whatever house Saturn is in right now. I’m not clear about what degree of Libra your AC is at but if it’s between 22-29 degrees you’ll feel Saturn’s influence this summer (increased social responsibilities, weight loss, etc). Also, read my reply to Bree because it applies to you…you have Saturn moving into the lower quadrant of your chart so your responsibilities will shift to internal matters.
Saturn square Jupiter is tough…limits on possibilities. But it also helps weed out the unrealistic possibilities and put your energy towards one that is realistic. Squares create friction that force you to act and find a solution so if you have something brewing in your 9th, keep pursuing it.

  3. Debbie says:

Libra is my sun – 19 degrees. Close enough for me! I’m feeling it! I need this reminders to do the work!

  4. Joseph says:

I wonder what Saturn in Scorpio will be like? Saturn retrograde is conjunct my ascendant this April, and Saturn direct hits it again in September. Ugh.

  5. Novlady says:

My Jupiter is at 27 degrees and my Pluto is at 25 degrees (both in Libra!) with my Libra Descendant at 29 degrees. I have been reading that when Saturn shifts into Scorpio that it will affect Scorpio suns. Really??? What more must I endure??? Lol. Also, my Saturn (by transit) is currently RIGHT ON THE CUSP of my seventh house. What does this mean for me? I have been doing so much interpersonal work its unbelievable…..being more patient, positive, and compassionate in my various relationships…could all of this mean that my judgment day approaches? Lol. Saturn presents tests, right? And, many texts describe him as the gatekeeper. Am I on the threshold to something great? (See the positive side of me grasping for anything!) Ha! I’m laughing a little, but I am exhausted.

    • Novlady says:

Oh, and I must add. My natal Saturn is at 17 degrees LIBRA! I’m going to become a master in relationships. LOL!

    • Nadia says:

I’ll be writing a post soon on Saturn’s impact in Scorpio. As for Saturn on the cusp of your 7th…sometimes this brings a new relationship with huge responsibilities. Or a relationship with someone older. It will teach you about limits/boundaries in relationships. Or it could just crystalize what you’re truly capable of giving to another and what you’re not able to give.

  6. Moss says:

aptly titled! good riddance indeed ;) Thanks so much for this info … my sun is at 29 Aries and I’ve been worried about this opposition since reading something on astro.com about how crappy it’ll make me feel! Tired, low energy etc. which timing couldn’t be worse because I’m about to start my life dream of market gardening! I feel better somehow knowing at least it’s out of my 2nd house (3rd house cusp 24 Libra) but will really feel better next Spring I suppose ;)

    • Nadia says:

      You’re welcome.
Remember when reading about the impact of one transit that there’s always other transits hitting your chart to balance it out.

      • mary beth says:

i am going with this philosophy and just projecting that energy. i am certain that if one welcomes the universal energies to flow, then they just will whether we can see the whole picture or not. i dont have an aversion to saturn as a general rule so i will just try to roll with it – easier said than done for sure.
for a couple months now, its my water trine that keeps popping up when i look at my chart and i think i will try to see this layered into the threshold i stand on now. i want to believe that this grand trine in earth is the key to the water trine door in the coming installment of the ongoing saga of how MB’s world turns. ;)
thanks, as always, for the guidance.

  7. AstroKat says:

Love your post on Saturn. It is sitting on my IC today, square my Natal Saturn. I am feeling better actually. Crappy break up last year (third and final opposition to my Venus and His Venus (we shared a Venus at 16 degrees Aries)). Pluto getting ready to enter my sixth house after a long stay in my fifth house. Probably need to study up on what you said again and really look at it. Trying to focus on career and move forward. Please keep up the good work.

  8. mia says:

Saturn has been passing back and forth over my poor Libra stellium (5 planets!) for some time now, and it’s been gruelling. It went retrograde right on top of my Moon-Venus conjunction, and sure enough, the day it was exact, my fiance, the love of my life, broke it off. It’s been devastating. There’s still some feeling like things are unresolved here, like it’s still open. Is there a chance that we could get back together when Saturn goes direct? I just can’t accept that it’s over, we were so in love. I just don’t know what’s happened, so frustrating.

    • Nadia says:

Sorry that you are going through this. Saturn transits can be harsh.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what will happen with your fiancee without looking at your charts.

  9. mia says:

thanks for your sympathy nadia, so much appreciated! there has been a real heaviness sitting on me. the loneliness has been the worst part. i just feel like i’m all alone in the world and there’s no one i can reach out to, and no one who cares. it feels so scary. my birth data is: 9/25/76 15:17pm Naples, Italy. my boyfriend is: 12/29/66 York, U.K. I know he was born between 9:30-10:30am, but don’t know his exact birth time unfortunately.

  10. Trace says:

    Hi Nadia,
I wonder if you can help me? I am a Sun Pisces and unsure of my ToB. I think my R/A is either Cancer or Leo which means I’m not sure which House Saturn is currently in. What is interestingly though is that I usually don’t have any problems with creative writing but for at least 18 months I just don’t seem to be able to write (5th?). Also though, my breathing for the last 8 weeks has been extremely laboroured/short of breath (very frightening) and then yesterday (21st March) it just bizarrely returned to normal! Could this be 3rd house?

    Love your site. T

    • Nadia says:

It’s difficult to say without knowing your house positions but I’ll give it a shot.
I’m not a doctor (or a medical astrologer) but the 3rd House is naturally ruled by Gemini which rules the lungs. So a transit of Saturn through your 3rd could indicate a restriction on breathing. It’s always a good idea to get these things checked out by a medical professional (especially if it reoccurs).
As for the block on your writing…could be Saturn or sometimes a hard aspect (square, opposition, conjunction) from Pluto can slow things down. Creativity is represented by the 5th House but writer’s block can also happen with hard aspects from these planets to Mercury (communication) or Venus or even Neptune. Sometimes difficult aspects to Mars (drive and energy) can tie things up as well.

  11. Arie says:

Good riddance indeed! I have Saturn in Libra conjunct Sun in the 9th house with Cap rising. I’m not quite sure what I need to learn but I can’t wait for my first Saturn Return to be over. Not sure what I was thinking starting a masters degree in January!

  12. Lynne says:

I’m a Libra, sun 24 degrees. Yep, it’s all comin’ down. My mercury is 6 degrees Libra
and I just dont want to talk about it. Lol.

  13. paul says:

    Hi Nadia

I am a capricorn 8 jan 76 with moon in aries, im struggling with reliving my past at the moment, which scares me because of the bad things that happened and im scared of my past happening again, especially as i keep bumping into people from my past, is this to do with saturn in libra and also am i reliving my past in order to move on from what happened or is there another reason?

    Thanks

    • Nadia says:

      Hi Paul,
Reliving your past could happen for many reasons. Usually it has to do with coming to terms with past events so you can move forward. It could involve Saturn in Libra but I would also look at your 4th House (childhood) and your South Node to see what transits are hitting them.
As for your fears about negative incidents from the past recurring….you have control over this. Bumping into these people may be disconcerting but the final say about what happens this time around lies with you.

  14. jean says:

My sun is 12 degrees Libra and Saturn has been hard on me the past two years. My car was repossessed last year and Im about to lose my house in July. My credit rating has also taken a big hit. About the only good thing that has happened to me was getting a long overdue promotion at work. I can’t wait for Saturn to leave Libra.

    • Nadia says:

I hear you. Saturn’s increased responsibilities and limits on ego (Sun) can feel very harsh. The promotion is a great sign that you’ve been working with this energy in the right way though. And, although it hurts to lose things, remember that Saturn pares away all the non-essentials. That may seem extreme when it’s your house and car that are being pared away but you are always left with what you need.

  15. lina says:

Hi , I have saturn retro back in my 6 house and I will leave my job next 3 days . I quit without having another job! I hate what I do as nail technician but I had endured it 23 month. My Jupiter is 28 Cancer 4 house- I also have Saturn in 8 Arie and Pluto and Uranus will make square on both. Piease help ! I am Taurus with 25 Aries ascendant. Thanks!!

  16. jacy says:

I just discovered your blog, and this post is really wondeful!!!

Saturn is transiting / rx my 7th house, and I have a natal Pluto (26 libra)-Saturn (27 libra)- Moon (4 scorpio) conjunction in that 7th house… and on top of that I have my Sun at 24 Cancer (4th house), so this will be squared by Saturn at the same time.

so far it’s been horrible, losing “the one” and no matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to get over it – thought time was a healer, but even though it’s been months, I still feel the same. I really put so much into that relationship, seeing how I myself can finally open up to someone, being proud seeing my own progress. And then I literally got left behind, everything seemed fine and then he left from one day to another – without a word!
no words to describe this horrible feeling.

So spot on when you said “it’s not fair”….that’s exactly what it feels like. anyone else around me gets married, moving in together and all that and I feel really left out…

and I am afraid I might not “get” what my lesson here is supposed to be, this entire situation has me really hit rock bottom, it’s cruel and really – not fair. and it’s simply exhausting and draining…. wondering what it is for me that will come out of this horrible transit that will be “hard as diamonds”….

    • Nadia says:

      Thank you.
I’m sorry to read about your loss. As harsh as it may sound, Saturn transiting the 7th will take away what is not needed. It certainly doesn’t feel this way, I’m sure. But Saturn transits are about cutting away everything that is non-essential. When a relationship ends it’s usually because the work that the two of you were supposed to do together is finished. Now it’s about re-balancing (Libra) yourself, by yourself (Saturn). Saturn squaring your Sun in Cancer will force you to confront your security needs; are you able to provide these needs yourself? It’s a self-sufficiency transit.

  17. jacy says:

Thank you for your kind words Nadia!

I am trying my best to get along / get through, and I really hope it will get better some time. But as these transits will continue for another few months because of the retrograde I probably have to have a lot of patience and have all the strength I can find.

I hope you will keep this blog up for a long time, the articles are really great, you a great style to write!

  18. Savannah says:

I’m a O degree Sag, with Scorpio rising at 26 degrees. I’m currently in my 2nd Saturn return in 11th House Libra conjunct Venus. I have had to endure the end of two beautiful 10 year relationships (1 intimate, 1 not), my brother’s tragic death, 14 months of fighting to get 1st and 2nd mortgage modifications–(got the 1st and still working on the 2nd now), and trying to find a full time job after being underemployed since 2008.

Nadia throw me a bone. A glimmer of hope for something better. My sails are losing wind.

I’m also dreading Saturn’s transit into Scorpio in my 12th house, and of course, my Virgo will be right there too.

I’ll be sincerely looking for your report on Saturn’s move. Thank you for your time.

    • Nadia says:

I’m not sure what you mean by your Virgo being right there, but Saturn through your 12th House shouldn’t be too bad. The 12th is hidden so Saturn will be tucked away for the duration of that transit. Unless you have planets in the 12th you might not even notice it. Beyond that, I really can’t say much without seeing your chart.

  19. Cassidy says:

    Greetings Nadia.
I just found your site today. I was looking for something like it, as i am astounded at how things seem to be getting worst instead of better these past few months, w Saturn transiting in my first house. I’ve been at the ends of my wits… i don’ know how many times, since fateful 2009. Things have been SO bad, restrictive and almost hallucinatingly like living in a prison/ isolation chamber that just keep getting tighter and tighter. I often cry even, cos if i were in jail i wouldn’t have to pay and worry about bills constantly, at the expense of my health. I’m a Gemini from 1960 (Sun23° conjunct Venus 21°) My rising is at 7° Libra, square with Mercury (17° Cancer) , square with Mid Heaven (10° Cancer) square w Jupiter (29° Sag) and square with…Saturn (16° Capricorn).
It’s actually the first time i notice that… all the squares on my chart are to my Rising. This scares me even more.
My whole life, since a kid, i’ve known i’m an artist, but that was always denied me; when i turned 20 i moved to California (from Europe!) and there, i was able to be myself more than i ever did in my original environment n folks. However, and in spite of taking myself to Art school at 30, i never was in a situation where i could afford to be creative to make a living. Still… there was a measure of ‘me’ aka who-i-truly-feel-i-am in my lifestyle over there. Unfortunately, in 02, in returned to Europe, to be closer my aged mom. I’m still here…… but my life has completely unravelled. (no employment etc) Since Saturn has been in my First House tho, it’s gotten even worst. To the point where i don’t really understand how everything i try, work on, plan, etc etc systematically FAILS. Even totally logical things. Example: i live in a city, unemployed, in a small studio in very noisy overpopulated area of big city when it rains about 300 days a year….since i have returned (and was found ‘too old’ for employment…40 something) That’s 10 years. Last month i decided i would at least save my health and move 2 hrs away, to the coast.I never go out my house here anymore. I discovered that nowadays here, one cannot move unless they make 3X the rent per month. Meanwhile, i could totally pay the rent they asked, and could prove impeccable credit. But that counted for nothing and now i realize i really AM in jail.
I think this all has to do with ‘identity’.. or so. Like i struggled to find my path my whole life, then now i’ve been barred to even have a job. Maybe it means i’m supposed to you know.. do my own work.
I paint very well. Not that it is my favorite. (Music is my first love, and a Libra Musician my absolute Inspiration) I know i could make money painting stuff and selling via net. I have no job so i have time.
    BUT I CAN’T PAINT.
At this point (isolation, city etc..had so too much of it all) i don’t feel the impulse to do anything anymore.
I’ve even lost a significant amount of weight cos i’m like… so closed up now i don’t even want to eat. Well.. i don’t want to go to the stores and see people. I’m wondering…
Especially now that i saw all these squares.. is my Quest for becoming who i was meant to be not just a moot point by now… Don’t the buds that do not bloom dry out?
I know it takes me very little to ‘come back to life’ . I used to LOVE LIFE so so so very much…….. Gemini, Libra rising.. social butterfly i was.
Now.. looks like the trip in the inner worlds and the heavy planets until i die!
    I’m scared
cos you know… if it’s going to remain like this. It’s not gonna be worth my while. Not after all the great things i did in my life.
“I rather die a free man in my grave, than to live as a pauper or a slave”
and this girl ( w 2 university degrees, 3 languages and so on and on) has lived a really demeaning pauper life for too long (who wants to be on unemployment for the rest of their lives?? that’s not living).
Anyways, i’m sorry this is so long.
I feel like a cat that’s unravelled a huge ball of yarn….and is all wrapped up in it.
Any light you can shed is GREATLY appreciated!
    Gratefully yours,
    Cassidy

  20. Cassidy says:

PS: i forgot to say, since 09: i’ve lost the boy friend i’d been with for a year, who stopped suddenly having feelings for me (a 180° switch), lost the last childhood friends i had (i have too many problems, who needs it) ended relationship with my mom’s family (that was never good anyway), lost all my friends (life goes on, except if you never had a dime..)
I’ve reacted badly to the first loss (my boyfriend ).. to this day, stuff about it still comes up (he keeps in touch, eek) the other ones, though very shocking too, i just turned the page on. I learned to let go of everything. I’m looking at it as making room for the new. Or at least relinquishing the false…

  21. michael says:

Cassidy — I was so moved by your tale and it’s similarity to mine that I had to write.
I too have been going through a terrible ordeal — since Sept. ’10. I’m also an artist, also can’t paint, also closed up (and in). Saturn in Libra has turned my world upside down. I too lost weight, my home (lived in my car through a very hard and long winter — with pneumonia, two detached retinas, and early-stage renal failure, all said to be due to stress). My Dutch wife, who I adored, left me suddenly after wiping out my bank account; even stole my dog. “Friends” drifted off — you name it, it happened.

My sun is Leo with Pisces ascending, Saturn in Libra. My understanding is that as Saturn transits out next month, after some fits and starts, order, direction and — dare I say it: Luck — will begin to come in August, in a big way.
I hope for your sake it does; I feel deeply for the misfortunes of others (burden of the Irish) and wish you all the best this summer and the years ahead. I also hope your muse returns to you as well; art is what truly defines us, as we define it –

    • Cassidy says:

Thank you so much for responding, Michael. I am moved by your story too… You’re so right about Art.. It’s being ourselves, and when that stops flowing it really shows how the soul ails and how foreboding our circumstances are. I wish you all the best, friend from the Guinness Land. (the gent who left me was from Scotland; i’m right next your wife’s land) It would seem my question was avoided by our astrologer…… lol. You are braver!
Take good car Michael, my very best wishes from the heart. xxx
‘Everyday in every way, weir getting better and better’ ;-)

      • Nadia says:

        @Cassidy,
I did not avoid your question.
I apologize for not responding but there are times when the commitments of my business plus responding to all the comments I receive proves to be overwhelming. I remember reading your comment with every intention of answering it but obviously I didn’t. I do try to respond to everyone but some comments get missed. This has nothing to do with a lack of bravery on my part. More like a lack of time. :)
Anyway, in response to your initial comment: Saturn transiting through your first house can feel restrictive (like being in a prison). Especially since it was setting off all those natal squares (although your Jupiter at 29 deg Sag is not actually square your rising sign). And everyone’s rising sign squares their MC.
But things should ease up once it moves into Scorpio come this October (transiting Saturn should be just about finished with your 1st House, if it isn’t already). Saturn in the 1st is about redefining your identity/relationship to the outside world through increased responsibility/restrictions. As for the blocks on your creativity…the current Venus retrograde period might be helpful with that as it will be triggering your Sun/Venus in Gemini. Internal prompts/exploration which could bear fruit once Venus goes direct.

        • Cassidy says:

          Thank you Nadia!
Yes, my sentence was ill-formed. My problems usually scare people away. It’s hard to find something to say, i understand that. So i didn’t figure you were brave, just not ‘that’ brave.. most people avoid me.
What you said, was kind of obvious from everything i already read; which is why i wrote originally. To get something less generic.
Thanks for you time tho. I do appreciate how much work you’re doing and i enjoyed your articles. Thanks again
          Take care.

  22. Cassidy says:

    * correction: ‘i didn’t figure you WEREN’T brave.’
just that i scared you away. I know what it takes to faces such heavy question.

    • Nadia says:

Takes a lot to scare me away, Cassidy. :)
As for the generic nature of my answer…agreed, it was generic. But only because I haven’t seen your chart. When I answer comments on my blog I like to keep it brief and somewhat open because I save the specific, nitty-gritty stuff for my consultations. I don’t want to ignore people because I’m grateful for the time everyone takes to read my posts and ask questions/leave comments. But to give specifics, I have to study the chart.

  23. Sujoy says:

    Greetings to all of you-*
I am AC, and Saturn in 7th house libra.
Please explain to me about this position.
    Thank you.
    Best wishes

    • Nadia says:

Sounds like you’ve just finished (or are finishing) your Saturn Return. That’s about integrating relationship behavior from the past, into the future. Getting rid of relationship ideas that hold you back (or are unrealistic) and moving forward with a mature perspective. Also, taking responsibility for your part in past relationships.

      • Sujoy says:

Thank you Nadia!, I do appreciate.
I am 29 years and 6 months old. Perhaps my honesty was the biggest obstacle. The lesson I learned is quite painful but I am very happy, I do appreciate I achieved so far on true belief. I will be soon completing my Doctorate studies. And the 8th house scorpio ( SUN, MERCURY, JUPITER, VENUS all are there)- I have a undefined sense pain all the time within me, which makes me puzzle, my interest in life after death, also takes a lot of time from my professional schedule, huh!, sometime thats too much. Mars in 10th, Capricorn and Moon 3rd Gemini with Rahu. I do have an tremendous interest about planets. Many friends think I do science still I believe in such occult matters, perhaps I think, what I am interested in thats SCIENCE to me. I would be thankful to you if you could explain a little bit about the influence of planetary energies from the chart from my Birth.
        Take care

    • Nadia says:

Hi Paul…I really can’t say without knowing more about your chart. You haven’t given me enough to go on.

  25. paul says:

    Hi Nadia

My birthdate is 8th jan 1976 capricorn with moon in aries, do you need anything else?

    Thanks

Sorry Paul, but I don’t do free readings.

  26. jaimes says:

hi nadia! my sun is at 22 libra in the 9th, and my natal saturn is at 23 capricorn and is also my chart ruler, so right now feels like a very important time for planning the focus of my life for the next few years. in this process, do you think transiting saturn square my natal saturn would create more tension, or almost make it easier since i’m used to working with saturn square energy? my theory is that it has forced me to grow up and take on more responsibility in work and relationships, and that after he stations direct and moves away from my sun, i will start to see the resources i need for travel/education/art, etc, if i keep working at it. all of these areas have felt stifled either by my own artist’s block or by outside influences, it seems the internal process reflects external results. is this a good guess??

    • Nadia says:

Saturn transits can be easier for those who have its energy dominant in their charts. I’d say your guess is pretty accurate…especially the part about external results (Saturn deals with physical realities).

How will Saturn affect me with a sun sign of Scorpio, born 10-28-1947 in Lodi, CA

  28. Maya says:

My son has both Sun and Asc in Libra 25 degree. He is going tbrought a personal hell. Unfortunately, his moon is in Scorpio and Saturn will move there next. Do you know when Saturn will be passing through Scorpio 5-6 degree?

    • Nadia says:

Saturn will be hitting 5-6 degrees Scorpio between Nov 17-Dec 5, 2012, from May 15-Jun 23, 2013 and then one last time from Jul 23-Aug 30, 2013. The multiple hits will be due to Saturn’s retrograde and direct motion (it will pass back and forth over his Moon). Seems unfair, I know. To find some relief for him, look to see if Saturn will be trining any of his other planets (for strength and support). Also, look for aspects from transiting Jupiter to any of his planets for areas where he can find positive developments and reasons to be optimistic (Saturn/Moon transits can be depressing).

      • Maya says:

Thank you for your comment. Do you think younger people are impacted by Saturn harder than more mature people? Interestingly enough, my son and I have our Moons in exactly the same sign and degree; so we both will be hit

        • Nadia says:

Yes, younger people are absolutely hit harder by Saturn transits. One of Saturn’s functions is to help a person mature. So the first go’round can always feel harsh, because it’s the first taste of limits. Once you’ve experienced a Saturn transit (to any planet) you’ve (hopefully) integrated a few of his lessons.

  33. CeeDee says:

Saturn has just moved through my Ascendant, which is Libra 28/38′. I’m under the impression that once it’s cleared, things should start looking up for me. Do I have to wait until Saturn has completely left Libra? Saturn transiting my 12th has been a living hell, and I need a whole new life. I’m so sick of everything!

  34. Dean says:

Good Bye Saturn and Good riddens….but thank you….
Im am an aries decan 3 with life path number 8 ruled by Saturn. He has been opposing my Sun for the past 2.5years and I have felt it, but over the past year everything has gone downhill. Kinda like spring cleaning, everything. Relationship, work, family, assets, health. Saturn has turned my life upside down and inside out over the past year when he entered my decan. I hope all of this is a blessing in disguise.

  35. Manyfold says:

Hi there. My sun sign, moon sign, Venus, Mars and Pluto are Libra, but my Ascension is Scorpio. Does it mean still no luck for me in the next 2/3 years? I worked hard, earned and learned a lot in the past 2/3 years, but financially I am not far better off than before Saturn entered Libra.

    • Nadia says:

It doesn’t mean “no luck”, it just means that sometime in the next 2-3 years, transiting Saturn will move over your Ascendent. When Saturn was in Libra it was in your 12th House, which is not related to finances at all. Saturn through the 12th is about endings and completions.

  36. Jason says:

    Hi,
    Cool article.

    I was born on Dec. 21st 1985.

Is there any hope for me?

    Sure doesn’t feel like it.
