Second Chances: Mercury Retrograde Conjunct Uranus in Aries

"Hanover Square Concert Tickets" by Francesco Bartolozzi

Mercury is retrograde in Aries. Get ready for a second look at new developments that  flared up over the past few weeks. Specifically, Mercury will revisit this March 5th conjunction to Uranus in Aries (on March 18th).

Think back to what happened on or around March 5th. This could be your second chance to take advantage of a bright idea or surprising invitation that you ignored. Or you may have to re-examine a plan/message/statement. It’s not everyday that you get to regroup in aggressive Aries; use this opportunity to catch errors and omissions.

You’ll feel this second Uranus/Mercury conjunction most strongly if you have planets between 4-5 degrees Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn.

I hope so! Several recent developments very much need revising now, and both came up on March 5/6. I sent a business email to the wrong address, I just realized today, but I now I can try to find a more direct contact to help avoid the slush pile. I also had to agree to a contract that I hated signing, but the agreement is now in question, and with hope will be amended in my favor. Mercury went retro exactly on my Chiron, and on the 5th, Mercury was opposite my natal Jupiter/Uranus conjunction. I’ve never been so happy for do-overs!

    • Nadia says:

      For sure. :)
One thing people overlook with retrograde periods is the loophole potential. They worry about things getting tangled up without realizing that this could be the ideal time to get untangled.

“regroup in aggressive Aries” – this week has felt very much like this for me. Everything feels electric and erratic. And yet, this Mercury retrograde already feels like a disentangling one, fingers crossed!

ai yai yai! WHY does this have to ping my merc at 5′ libra in the 12th? i see it, its coming at me – i invited it. but now i wonder if i should trust myself to know its *really* right.
i have returned to the previous post and its ‘wrapped in steel’, i think you wrote, if you made some breakthrough at that point. and i certainly did and its been growing at a steady clip. (i feel this conjunction and Liked it until i checked and found this ping) maybe its just my virgo stubborness about the prospect of having to move myself and my libra to-ing and fro-ing. would you be concerned about my natal merc’s location?

    • Nadia says:

Would I be concerned because your Mercury is in the 12th? Not at all. You can look forward to some (perhaps) surprising reveals since the 12th is hidden/unacknowledged and Mercury conjunct Uranus equals clarity. It will be tugging the 12th House veil back from your 6th house of work and routine. Something in your day to day life/health routine may wake you up.

      • mary beth says:

ah, thank you, nadia. whew! course, would’ve thanked you if you said, oh that merc could have you off in fantasy land in a bad way lol but this is comforting news and i feel very relieved. guess i can swim a bit as well as hike ;)

  4. Novlady says:

My natal Mercury is at 4 degrees Scorpio (My moon is 5 degrees Gemini). Could this have an emotion versus intellect affect? I reached out to someone boldly on the 5th. Since that conjunction, I have been assertive without making bold declarations. I have been see-sawing between the urge to be very bold and tell him that I want him exclusively…versus playing it cool like the Scorpio that I am. I guess I wonder what will happen when planets move direct.

    • Nadia says:

You need (Moon) to have the choice (Gemini) to understand someone completely (Scorpio) or not. Gemini always wants 2 options and Scorpio wants the ultimate control. So you want that control to be able to delve into someone or keep things light.

      • Novlady says:

Thanks, Nadia. I am opting to acknowledge my needs while surrendering control over what I can’t control (the other person’s response to me). The emotional twin in me is encouraging me to stay ‘light’ as nothing as to be ‘all or nothing’.

This is a late entry, but on March 6 I was assaulted by a student who I had never met in the school where I teach. There’s your unexpected violence. The next week was spring break. By the end of it, I was still hurting, and reviewed the information I could find on the web on assaults by teachers on students, and found on March 18 that there was a law on the books that allowed for teachers to take a leave with pay to heal. I got some legal advice and applied for the leave that day.

The school was chaotic, and I was having a tough time making a plan to get out. So there you go. Now I’m much better, and have a clearer head and more options. Thanks for this! It is very clear information.
