Transiting Venus in Gemini: Smart Choices

"Ena and Betty" by John Singer Sargent

Venus moves into Gemini on April 3rd. Love gets lighter, brighter and chattier. Gemini is about options. It’s about communicating with as many people as possible in order to make a decision. The thing is, with Gemini the decision making never stops. So Venus in Gemini flirts to see who responds and how that response will impact her. There is also a duality here. She says one thing and means another. Has one thing and wants another.

But it won’t be all fun and games. She’ll face a confusing square to Neptune in Pisces (exact on April 5th) and a truth-or-consequences square to Mars retrograde in Virgo (exact on April 7th).

What does this mean for you? If you’re interested in exploring romantic options, keep your head on straight. It will be so very easy to place what you hear (Gemini) through the wishful thinking/deluded hopes filter (Neptune). It will also be tempting to deceive others. Either way, the reality check (Virgo) will hit you hard (Mars). Mars retrograde (reversed) suggests the consequences of past transgressions.

You’ll be fine if you:

  • Separate relationship facts (Gemini) from wishes (Neptune)
  • Communicate (Gemini) your relationship needs (Venus) honestly

If you stick to the above two points, you may still bump into some unpleasant truths during the square to Mars but events won’t hit you as hard. Virgo likes to keep it clean. The closer you can get to this, the easier it will be. The area of your chart that has Gemini in it is where you’ll have to make choices (smart ones, hopefully). Watch the Virgo/Pisces areas to see where the challenges will come from.

Note that all of the above applies to your relationship with yourself, as well (Venus rules self-esteem). Make the smart choices (Gemini) for your own well-being. Consider the Neptune square an opportunity to escape into booze/drugs/whatever. The Mars in Virgo square will be your hangover. Or your health wake-up call.

Those with planets between 0-3 degrees Gemini, Pisces or Virgo will really feel this one.

This transit will last much longer than usual because Venus will retrograde on May 15th at 23 degrees Gemini. I’ll write a post on this soon. For now I’ll say it will involve tons of second-guessing and flipping back and forth between romantic/creative options.

Venus will move into Cancer on August 7th.

very interesting read. as gemini rules my fifth, sixth and virgo eight. 2nd house sun, interesting in that the eclispe is 0 sag as well, may 21. a double whammy for the early mutables. have heard some interesting Mar Rx stories by mutables already.

it would seem covert behaviors would come out into the open as well. past transgressions seems like an apt description, though. Venus is a butterfly in Gemini, and she may have forgotten which road she flew down or migrated to and come to the realization the wrong one. Glad no early degree planets or lights.

Nice image of Venus in Gemini fluttering down the wrong road.

Covert behaviors: absolutely. Neptune square Venus almost encourages this.
