There’s some edgy stuff happening (see this post on Mercury in Aries). Fortunately, a mega-stabilizing influence has just kicked in; Venus’s transit of Taurus.
From March 5th to April 3rd Venus will be empowered in her sign. This is her earthy side, all the nice things (money, food, physical well-being and beauty) that we can see plus self-esteem and emotional resources. And it gets better.
Early morning on March 14th she’ll unite with expansive Jupiter at 9 degrees Taurus. So really it’s more of everything that feels and looks good. Plus, this Venus/Jupiter conjunction will be part of a Grand Earth Trine with Pluto at 9 degrees Capricorn and Mars at 9 degrees Virgo. Trines are special because they create a flowing circuit of stable energy. When this happens in the earth signs it’s a clear path to manifest something for yourself.
How you work with this trine will depend on what houses in your chart the earth signs occupy. These will be the areas of your life that are harmoniously linked. One area will have expanding opportunities for money/security (Jupiter in Taurus), another may be hectic with work/re-working (Mars retrograde in Virgo) while the third will be undergoing some major renovations (Pluto in Capricorn). The trine has started forming so you may be feeling it already. Have these three areas started cooperating with each other? Can you see how one feeds into the next? That’s the trine in action. The closer we get to March 14th, the stronger it will be.
You can create something real and beneficial with this influence but trines can be a bit lazy. They don’t have the friction of hard aspects (squares and oppositions) so there’s not a lot of push. You can probably see potential building in the areas I mentioned but you’ll have to push yourself to take advantage of it.

hi, could you give some examples of how ‘major renovations’ could manifest in the 9th house? i am assuming you would be referring, in this case, to the mental plane. does this mean a re-thinking, re-grasping; altering philosophy/beliefs? and if there are any ways this could manifest physically in the 9th, what would those be?
The 9th represents beliefs and philosophies so it could be a transformation of your belief system or what you have faith in. But physically, the 9th represents legal matters, education, long distance travel or anyone “foreign” (totally different from who you associate with) who comes into your life. The 9th also represents mentors/teachers. So Pluto in Capricorn could mean a trip, relocation or legal matter that changes your life or someone who impacts you so deeply that your philosophies change.
The man I am very interested in just received his citizenship. He is from Greece and our abrupt separation nearly 2 years ago promoted me to read so many relationship books. I have been working much on becoming more trusting in relationships! Wow!
thanks much. i was asking on behalf of ‘my’ cap/taurus. this should be fascinating to watch. lol will the goat and the bull find he can be bothered?
i hope novlady knows well what she is getting into! after 14 yrs in close daily interaction with greeks, i can tell you this: their cultural orientation to relationships is extremely earthy but kinda ‘gemini’ in that it doesnt ‘settle’ easily – unless the personal chart is so grounded as is the case with mine. then they just ground and STAY no matter what. lol at any rate, they dont enter into and form relationships on many of the criteria an american would do – particularly the males.
the personal whirlwind he will feel he is in, moving from greece to america, will keep him unsure of ‘who and what he is’ there for much longer than 2 yrs, i should think.
just my 2 cents! perhaps its all a divine appt. could be with all the work she has been doing herself in the interim. i know my time here and my relationship has been part of the universal plan.
may the moon and the grand trine fulfill you, nadia xx
Wishing you fulfillment as well, Mary Beth.
@mary beth
Thank you for your insight. Two years he wanted me to become his girlfriend the second day we were together. The quickness in the way we met, his request, and his age/immigration status had me very hesitant. I was also a bit insecure and could have handled it much more gracefully. Now, years later I feel we are both still very attracted to each. However, time has passed and our needs/desires may be different. I feel I am much more emotionally open and healthier enough to embrace an opportunity with him. I am considering just declaring what I desire. This is why I was curious as to what is occuring the stars. Please forgive me for piggybacking on your question. I mistook it for a response from Nadia to me about the ‘houses’ as I have my 9th house activated by this Grand Trine, as well. I wish you much goodness with this grand trine, too!
Hi Nadia,
I have Jupiter in the 6th and 7th houses. Also, Sagittarius rules my 8th and 9th house. Does this count in this interpretation, too?
Novlady from Sasstrology here.
I have just received a new creative opportunity to bring innovative cash flow into my life that I am excited, so this Jupiter in Taurus business feels right on time…..
but I have a romantic question…
My Venus is Conjunct the Pluto in Capricorn transit. My natal Venus is in the 9th house. My Mars is natally at 12 degrees in the 5th house. There are a few men in my life, but one in particular that I am very interested in. How can I take advantage of this beautiful grand trine in respect to romantic matters? My desires have been so strong lately that I am finding myself gravitating towards surrendering much want for an immediate answer and control (Aries Rising Scorpio, that I am) to a higher design (even calling upon sacred Vesta energy).
It would seem that this earth energy is about being patient as you mention in this article. However, I would like to tangibly manifest great things.
Hi Novlady…
If we’re talking about the Grand Trine I would just focus on your earth sign houses. The houses that Jupiter (Sag) rules can be affected but you’ll notice most of the action in the houses that Jupiter is actually transiting through.
Venus conjunct transiting Pluto is a biggie. In the 9th House suggests a transformation (Pluto) of your relationship philosophies (Venus in the 9th) powered by a re-assessment (Mars retrograde) of your ego/desires (5th House). Both of these planets trining Jupiter can mean an expansion of these changes. I’m assuming transiting Jupiter is on the cusp of your 6/7 houses but unless it’s on the exact degree of the house cusp I only interpret it as being in one house or the other. So even if it’s at 9 degrees Cap and your 7th House cusp starts at 10 degrees Cap (for example) I would still place it in the 6th House (until it moves into your 7th House of course).
In summary…focus on the changes you feel in your romantic ideals (9th House) and ego/purpose (5th House). If you decided to take an active (Jupiter) role and pursue this guy the trine would support you (although you do have to factor in the aspects between the two of you). Any action you take should reflect the changes I mentioned. One caveat: watch the control. Venus conjunct Pluto can gift you with a profound relationship but you will experience that Pluto driven desire for compulsive control. Remember that Pluto’s transit of Capricorn is about transforming existing boundaries and your idea of romantic authority.
My Jupiter natally crosses over from the 6th to the 7th. But, in transit its been in my 1st house. So, what you are saying is to really look at the earth sign houses? Does this mean to look in the 2nd house even if its ruled by Gemini? Or just houses that are earth ruled?
Every thing else you have said has been ON POINT. I have been having conversations with my sister and best friend about how I want a meaningful relationship and intimacy at the expense of instant gratification in passion. These two have been internal conflicts, but I aim to stay true to my higher goal of a true intimate partnership. Spiritually, I have been surrendering much control, being more optimistic in circumstances (and even peoples’ intentions- hard for a Scorpio!), and trusting in a higher design.
I really connect to your interpretation of how my houses unite in this examination. It feels really accurate. Thank you for your expertise.
You’re welcome.
When I say “earth sign houses” I mean the houses in your chart that are currently occupied by earth signs. The houses that are receiving the transits of Jupiter, Mars and Pluto. So your 1st House (with transiting Jupiter), your 9th House (with transiting Pluto) and your 5th House (with transiting Mars). Unless I misunderstood you, these are the houses in your chart that are getting hit by these 3 transiting planets.
The 2nd house, although it represents Taurus themes, is not as important for this Grand Trine because it is ruled by an air sign in your chart.
Although I thought you were saying Jupiter was transiting through your 6th/7th Houses, my statement still stands for your natal Jupiter; unless it’s on the exact degree of the cusp it can only occupy and influence one house. Some interpretations will say that if it’s that close to the next house it influences it as well. In my experience, its primary influence is in the house it occupies. But, there are three exceptions to this:
1.if Jupiter is conjunct a planet in the next house its influence would be extended BUT they would both have to be in the same sign.
2.if Jupiter is that close to the 7th House cusp it might have moved by progression into that house (and its influence would be felt there). Progressed planets are internal shifts in energy, like internal transits.
3.if both houses are occupied by the sign that planet rules then its influence would be felt in both houses (so if Sag occupied your 7th House, Jupiter’s influence would be felt in your 6th and 7th Houses). But from what you said, Sag is in your 8th/9th Houses.
I know this can be confusing so let me know if you still have questions.
Your three exceptions below are very helpful. My natal Jupiter is at 27 degrees in Libra…It is part of a super conjunction of Saturn, Pluto in Libra (6th houes) and it conjuncts Mercury (Scorpio) in the 7th. My 7th house is at 29 degrees Libra. (I hear an ASC at 29 degrees is a big deal so I am assuming a DSC at 29 degrees is a big deal, as well).
So, it appears that my Jupiter doesn’t technically fall into your three exceptions though it conjuncts a 7th house planet (not in the same sign). Is this correct?
Again, thanks!
Correct…it forms an out of sign conjunction w/Mercury in Scorpio.
Oh, and to add…my Jupiter is in Libra natally- so perhaps its not needed in this interpretation? I have no planets in Taurus. My second house is ruled by Gemini.
My Chiron is in Taurus in the 1st house. Would this transit affect Chiron, too? I would welcome some earthy healing!
It’s less confusing to just focus on the earth houses for this aspect (the Trine). It would affect Chiron if it was being hit by these transits (so if your Chiron is around 7-9 degrees Taurus).
How can we can “create something real and beneficial with this influence” with both mars and mercury retrograde? My 4th, 8th and 12 houses are impacted next week. I would love to apply for a new job but I’ve always read not to start new projects, new jobs and new relationships when both mars and mercury are retrograde. I would like to transform my new home by doing some renovating but again, have decided to put it off until after the retrogrades.
Well, that’s always the question with retrograde planets, isn’t it?
If you feel better you can certainly put things off while Mars and Mercury are Rx. But I don’t believe that this beneficial aspect pattern should be ignored because some planets are retrograde. Mercury does not go retrograde until March 12th so you should be safe with anything that starts before this date. And as I mentioned in the article, the Trine is already in effect so you would be working with something that’s already started.
Mars Rx can cause delays but it’s more of an intensification of Virgo’s energy. Double checking, correcting, etc. If you’re aware of this and incorporate it into the Grand Trine energy you should be able to take advantage of it. It could also re-introduce a situation from the past or cause you to re-consider something you previously discarded. Sometimes that’s the purpose of retrograde transits.
Having said this, these are my personal observations based on my experience and studies as an astrologer. I’m not advising you to do anything that you don’t feel comfortable with.
So succinctly put Nadia. I’ve been anticipating this trine as it seems such a boon admidst quite a bit of major change in the skies of late. I think it certainly helps to know this opportunity is afoot; letting the trine benefit you is probably the only thing you can really ‘do’, being open to a nice free flow of stable energy.
Exactly!
You need to work with the energies that are out there and it’s always a balancing act.
