August 31st brings us this month’s second Full Moon (at 8 degrees Pisces). There’s no astrological significance to a “Blue Moon”, but it is rare because it only happens every 2-3 years.
What is significant is the Moon’s separating conjunction from Chiron at 7 degrees Pisces. Full Moons are about completion. Chiron (the Wounded Healer) is about healing your wounds by confronting them. Seems pretty obvious what this Moon is good for.
In case you don’t tune into the “letting go” vibe, allow me to repeat that this will be a separating conjunction. The Moon will hit Chiron just before it becomes full. You’ll experience a buildup of energy that involves your ickiest feelings/painful doubts/weaknesses/ etc. And then… the Moon will be gloriously full in forgiving Pisces, prompting you to wash all that painful stuff down the drain.
The area of your chart containing Pisces is where you’ll get to release the painful stuff. You might have noticed a twinge in this area anyway, because transiting Chiron has been in Pisces since April, 2010. Perhaps this has manifested as niggling insecurities or vague fears. Maybe, in lower-Pisces fashion, you’ve pretended these fears don’t exist. Know that the Full Moon will emphasize what you’ve been avoiding. So you might as well dive in.
The method of release will depend on what area of your chart this Full Moon lights up. If it’s your 12th House, this could involve meditation, dream work or even a literal release from a hospital. If it hits your 3rd House, you might have a come to Jesus talk where you forgive, or are forgiven.
If you have planets between 7-8 degrees Pisces or Virgo, you’ll be right in the middle of this influence.

So, do you punch in the dates on astro.com on natal/transits and see where the moon transits in your natal chart on the full moon date?
If so, the full moon will be in my 11th house (Aquarius ruled). I welcome healing.
Astro.com should work, but remember that the transiting Moon will have to be exactly opposite the transiting Sun. 11th house should put a social spin on this Moon for you…issues with friends, maybe.
How would this “letting go” process work if this hits the MC/10th house? I don’t have a job at the moment . :X
10th is also status, public image and future goals. So there could be a release in any of those areas.
Just like for Novlady, this will also happen in my Aquarius ruled 11th house. BUT, Pisces is intercepted in my 11th, and my natal Moon at 6:13 PIS has been receiving a lot of attention from transiting (Rx) Chiron and Neptune lately. The only thing missing was the Blue Moon on top of it *grin*
Should be interesting to see how this one turns out for you.
Oh my goodness!! So crazy lately, this might turn into a spiel, so sorry
), I’ve known him for a couple years previously but only as friends. Anyhow, things advanced so quickly that we have both admitted and make jokes about how weird it is, but agreed to ride it out and see what happens. HEAVEN! This guy’s pretty much everything I could ever want (have ever remembered wanting) in a partner, he makes me so happy I feel like an idiot for being so freakin happy, like I’m gonna be punished for it, it’s so good.
I just got out of an unhealthy 5.5 yr relationship, got an awesome job, and met the person that I’m pretty sure is my soul mate in the last two months. The day that I got out of my previous engagement (which I always knew was wrong but couldn’t leave due to pesky insecurity issues, things that I’m just figuring out now I think, blahblah), was the very first day of the exact square between Pluto and Uranus (which I’ve been hearing oh so much about).
I started seeing someone a month later, which I really hadn’t anticipated (I know everyone must say that, but seriously I meant it
Well, I’m a regular reader of this blog, it’s pretty much my favorite ever – very very straightforward with good advice. Things have been so crazy and fated feeling lately, and this only adds to it. This new person’s Sun is at 8* Pisces. I just love it when stuff like that happens.
Sounds wonderful! Enjoy!
I love these writings. thank you!
You’re welcome.
If there was a way to use this to heal a failing relationship what would it be? I have natal moon in Pisces at 10 degrees in 12th house, aspecting natal Chiron at 12 degrees Taurus, and Venus at 8 degrees Gemini. I dont want to believe it has to be over…
With a relationship, the other person has to be willing. if they’re not, there’s not much you can do. But since the Moon will hit your 12th house, some inner healing could benefit you greatly.
thanks Nadia.. I have just begun some very deep and fundamental healing work on myself.. it will have an impact on everything, including my relationships..
Moon in my 8th house Pisces.. Mars in my 4th house Scorpio.. Any advice?
A good Moon for you to let go of intimacy/control issues.
**Moon Conjuct my Natal Sun in 8th house Pisces. Mars Conjuct my Progressed Moon in 4th house Scorpio.
See my reply to your comment, below. Intimacy, boundaries, letting go of anything you’ve been keeping bottled up.
WOW! My 6th H Pisces has Chiron-10, Moon-11 & Jupiter- 12 degrees. Opposite my 12th-H Virgo w/ Pluto and Venus both at 8 degrees.
I also have planets transiting my 6th H Pisces; Neptune just entered at 1 degree & my Chiron return is close at 7 degrees.
This seems pretty big for me. Any advice or expectations or should I just sleep in that day?
6th house represents work, health, routine. I would watch for issues in any of these areas, but especially health. Also, if you work with others, it could be a sensitive time.
Thank you very much for the insight.
Pisces is in my 9th house at 7 degrees! I definitely feel exhausted, and feel like letting go of certain relationships and certain habits of mine. I also have Saturn weighing heavily on me now as I’m a 3rd decan scorpio…sigh…this feeling of letting go is heavy.
Full Moon in the 9th can also make you aware of new opportunites (once you let go of the old stuff) since this house is about exploration.
I got my pisces acd at 9 degrees…what should I expect?
The issues described in the article could impact your identity or physical appearance.
Hi Nadia,
Have you ever written about Lilith – the dark moon? If not, do you have any plans to write about this placement? I have a Lilith in my 5th house between Scorpio and Sagittarius, and I’ve been reading that this placement can often mean early death of the native’s children, especially according to Vedic astrology.
No, I haven’t. But it’s definitely something I’ll consider for a future post.
Very nice write up !
I am a Pisces, and I am looking forward to the Full “blue” Moon.
I wonder what it will really bring.
Fingers crossed.
But be sure to make a wish on it, and the Blue Full Moon will shine for you and all the things you do.
ho hum, natal chiron at 6.37 pisces, about to be backed over by chiron yet again, being cancer sun i am really hoping this is gonna release me from it all as i really have worked hard during the chiron return period..and yet pluto is opposing my merc, trining my pluto and uranus squaring merc, thinking thinking thinking and trying so hard to heal right down to the depth of my soul… saturn in my 12th house libra is sure making sure i dont rush about it. Lucky im not really of the victim mentality, even tho very tired of hard work and still waiting to see the fruits of my labour, or i could have easily felt the energies the last few years have been doing their best to bring me personally to my knees…oh wait, chiron in pisces… i believe they did that too!
Chiron Return can present new opportunities to expand your life, if you release old, painful habits.
Thanks Nadia, well i sure have worked hard to do so and dont believe i have left any stone unturned, the proof will be in the eating of the pudding so they say
Hi,
I have no idea which house Pisces sits in for me, I am a Pisces though. Is that enough information? Apologies for the cluelessness! Is there a way to anticipate how this blue moon will affect me?
Thanks, D
What if it’s in your first house?
Issues with identity/appearance to other pople.
Nadia, you’re “scary-good” at this stuff!
I’m not so good – LOL!! Could you expand a bit on this answer?
Thanks!
LD
p.s. My Asc. is 8 deg – but Aries (not Pisces)… Does an ascendant count as “a planet” ?
Sorry, I can’t expand on my answer without analyzing the chart. All I can say is that the 1st house represents identity/physical appearance. Beyond that, everything depends on what else is happening in the chart. No, the Ascendent does not count as a planet…it’s an angle. But it is still a sensitive point in the chart.
Got it! Thanks so much!! (Hoping this is going to help my mom’s physical state, in that case!)
Smack dab on my 8 degree Ascendant!… Lots a deeeep stuff happening and some crazy/cool dreams ( I got a talking flower like the pansies in Alice in Wonderland and it told me not to be afraid to give it lots of water. I submerged it and it blew bubbles out at me smiling)
LOL! Love the sounds of that dream.
full moon is in exact conjunction of my MC Virgo/IC Pisces, its sextile my NN at 7 Cancer in 8th, which im not sure what that means but if i was a thinking woman, and I am , I’d have to say im doing some pretty damn amazing work on myself lately and something will come up to let me know just how great I am
sun at 29 Pisc/asc 25 scorp
am I close ..lol
The Full Moon will be on your IC, so there could be a big letting go regarding family, childhood or your Mother.
My Mid Heaven (MC) is at 8 degrees Pisces, Sun at 5 Cancer, ASC at 3 Cancer, Pluto 2 Virgo, Saturn 3 Capricorn & the bucket of lower planets is all channeled thru 29 degrees Pisces in the 10th house. Would you please elaborate on the angle/planet impact? Thanks!
Meant to include that my Moon’s at 29 deg Pisces,(the ‘handle’ in the bucket pattern). Please help w/10th house/FM issues & what it might mean for 4th house issues, if any, – when the FM is opposite that angle, the IC.
It could involve letting go of disappointments regarding your career/public image. MC in Pisces is tricky because it’s the energy of status and achievement (MC) expressed through a sign that doesn’t care about status.
Was wondering sence I’m not familiar with the houses and currently looking for work.. What’s this mean for me, what is my 12th house?
Mars Pisces 6°49’50 in house 12 direct
Sun Pisces 17°19’52 in house 12 direct
The 12th House represents dreams, your unconscious and unacknowledged issues. The Full Moon could push you to release some self-defeating blocks and/or bring your hidden talents out into the open.
I am just starting to learn about all this and love it. However, still do not understand a lot. The little bit I know is, I dont have any planets in Pisces, Pluto is 5* Virgo in my 12th house. Mars is 14*Scorpio, my Moon is 14*Aries. I am Scorpio with Virgo rising. My DOB is 11/12/59 at 1:26am in Griffin, Spalding Ga.
I am in the midst of a job interview (had two phone and waiting for the face to face) with a Global company. I have a good feeling about this job. My concern is my love life. I have meet some really GREAT men lately, but things never seem to advance past 1-2 dates or 4-5 weeks. What gives?? Can anyone help explain this to me and how to correct it please?? Thanks in advance!! Happy Blue Moon. I love a full moon.
Hi Carol,
It’s really difficult for me to say why your relationships would not be sticking without looking at your chart (which requires a consultation). But maybe someone else here can help you…
Reading this article made me laugh. I’m a Pisc Moon/Asc (3 deg) opp Virgo stellium and couldn’t explain this sudden depressed feeling (with no apparent reason) that I got (and very restless mind you). I did decide to kick a drinking habit (though not a serious one, one that I ignored for too long) and focus on ‘ issues’ . So the Chiron part makes total sense to me! I now hopefully await the full moon
Great site. Good luck to all with this FM.
I have natal chiron at 1.47 piesces and natal pluto at 4 virgo. What energies will I be needing to process
in my 3rd house
Fear of losing personal power, in the realm of communication/intellect.
This full moon was opposite my sun at 9 deg Virgo. My sun is in my 12th, unaspected. Chiron opposing my Sun has been very painful, although this time has also been influenced by other transits, such as Saturn on my Libra stellium, and Uranus and Pluto. However, the pain has been chirotic. It has that certain shamanistic feel to it. It’s as if my identity, and how I served my soul has been perceived through a different lense. A much more authentic one. Chiron shot his arrow from my 6th to my 12 th house Sun and said “your daily activities hurt you and will continue until you serve your soul; what you are yoked with”… Now that I can see, everything has changed.
Thank you for sharing this. Beautifully described…
