Love and Compassion: Venus in Cancer Trines Neptune and Chiron

Venus moved into loving Cancer today. Can you feel the shift? Everything’s just a bit gentler.

She’s currently making a nice, smooth contact with Neptune at 2 degrees Pisces. If you’ve been hurt, this is a wonderfully healing balm. Neptune oozes compassion and Venus in Cancer loves to be loved. This is also a psychic influence; Cancer feels what others are feeling and Neptune puts you in touch with the other world. You can also go wrong with this energy, in breathtakingly effortless ways.  Since we’re dealing with Neptune, there’s the addiction factor. Trines can enable all sorts of unhealthy behavior, so it will be easy to fall into self-defeating patterns. Unhealthy can feel real good. If you catch yourself thinking “I’m just going to sleep with/call/stalk/cling to/look after ____ one last time”, try to resist that urge. Seriously, why muddy a beautiful influence like this?

After she finishes her trine with Neptune, Venus slides right into a trine with Chiron at 8 degrees Pisces. This is the ultimate, let-go-of-your-hurt influence. First, you need to open up about relationship vulnerabilities to someone you trust (Cancer). Pour out your  loneliness, rejection, neediness, insecurity. This energy practically guarantees that you’ll be heard and embraced. If you don’t have anyone to open up to? You can still let go by healing yourself. But the catch is you need to confront the wounds first. It’s a bit more uncomfortable than the Neptune trine because Chiron always demands an acknowledgement of the pain.  But it won’t be so bad…this is one of the gentlest influences around.
