Speed Bump On The Road To Fabulous: What’s Hitting Venus in Leo?

Venus’ entrance into Leo today has upped the stakes regarding relationships, money, self-esteem and creativity. These areas are bigger and brighter. More to offer, more to lose. And you may be feeling Venus’ approaching trine to Uranus (the liberator) at 7 degrees Aries (exact on September 13th). What a superb influence for anyone looking to perform, or show off what they’ve got. Uranus in courageous Aries adds a shot of “Who cares what anyone thinks” to Venus in Leo’s love me/look at me vibe.

That’s why, when Venus forms an awkward, touchy Yod the day before, I want you to keep this Venus/Uranus trine in mind. Because the Yod is going to test you.

Venus will form an inconjunct with Chiron in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn (at 6 degrees) on September 12th.  This means the desire to be recognized/applauded/appreciated in any of the Venus ruled areas (love, money, self-esteem, art) will have to adjust to insecurities (Chiron) and power struggles/reasons why someone else has more clout than you (Pluto). It’ll be tough. You’ll be buzzing along, feeling the fabulous pull of Uranus. You’ll be compelled to step up your game and throw caution to the winds. But you’ll have to get past that Yod speed bump first. And really, that’s all it is. Just a sticky moment where you’ll have to relinquish a bit of what you want.

But the Yod is still there. A speed bump is meant to slow you down, so do not try to rush past it. Because you’ll lose, big time. Remember, the higher you climb, the harder you fall. And Leo likes to aim high. So prepare yourself for some obstacles. Be generous and accommodating when dealing with other people’s agendas, jealousies and insecurities. Apply the same generosity to your insecurities. If a project or relationship falters, move on. Embrace the electric inspiration and excitement of Uranus. Insecurities? They won’t matter. Restrictions? Who cares, you’ll have new ideas. Better ones. Power plays? Bah. You’ll be above all that.

If you have planets between 0-7 degrees Leo, or 6-7 degrees Pisces, Aries or Capricorn, you’ll feel these influences most strongly.

My Sun is at 7 Leo (in the 6th), and my Chiron is 6 Aries (in the 2nd)! I’ve been dealing with this Yod a while. In between huge bursts of progress, I keep getting stuck in intractable holding patterns. I want to go go go, but no one else is in a hurry but me! Ha. I will have to come back and read this post often. Luckily, transiting Pluto is also trine my Saturn, so the changes are feel positive and powerful.

    • Nadia says:

Pluto trine your Saturn can get you through almost anything, really. Fantastic influence to be under. It’s like your own, personal magnifying glass (Saturn) to capture Pluto’s energy and focus it.

  2. Novlady says:

My Capricorn Venus is at 7 degrees. So many transits affecting her!

  3. Debbie says:

ah yes, see now venus in leo, my inner resources feel much more abundant and my circumstances since last october with saturn testing my moon and then asc now on the way ou as saturn squares himself in the 3rd house of my natal chart, I have needed this opportunity of a generous gift from the heavens and this is how it feels. With MC, h48, lillith, uranus, mars all natally in leo in my 10th house, it may well be the opportunity to follow the yellow brick road and gather good energy of heart, mind and the courage along the way, so I will pay attention….Nice in a golden gooey sorta way :) I will need to work with the stress of my own yod once venus reaches 26 as this has natal saturn in action at the apex again, but in the meantime, i will remind myself how to enjoy a little…

  4. Debbie says:

oops. i forgot nth node at 29 leo, so that may be something to express too :) can you tell its spring down this part of the world hahaha!

  5. H. says:

My progressed Sun, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter are in Leo. Despite this Yod and square to Mars, I’m looking forward to Venus’ trip through Leo.

Progressed Jupiter is also conjunct natal Midheaven and that’s going to last for years OMG OMG :)

Does that sound Leo like or what? Me me me

  6. Lina says:

Transiting Venus is just about to hit my MC at 3 degrees Leo and then natal Mars at 9 degrees Leo. Transiting Uranus is in the 6th natal now making a conjunction to my South Node at 6 degrees Aries. Was kind of keeping my hopes high Venus could give the necessary boost to my further career development and that Uranus will give her a helping hand from the house of work (6th). However, haven’t at all noticed the Yod that’s going to be formed as well. So thanks for the heads-up, will try not to be too disappointed this time when things do not turn my way:)

    • Nadia says:

You always have to take the other transits/progressions into consideration, because they can moderate existing influences. But keep in mind, if a sensitive part of your chart (like your MC) is being activated, something will happen. But it might be an opportunity that you’ve overlooked or even passed on. Transits don’t always dump changes into your lap; you have to work with them.

last time when there was conjuction of uranus and venus (feb 9th 2012) i all of sudden bumped into my ex..i wonder what will happen this time….quite excited….

I got Chiron in 12th house Leo and Venus in 7th house Aquarius. I’m a Leo Ascendant with Pisces Sun/Aquarian Moon. . I’ve never heard of a Yod before, and I’m also a musician, so I’m extremely interested in the Chiron and Venus interplay here. I feel like I’ve been growing a lot stronger the past few months, like I’m learning from my Progressed Moon through Scorpio (conjuct Pluto). Any thoughts?? Thanks Nadia!

    • Nadia says:

Chiron in Leo and Venus in Aquarius form an opposition, not an inconjunct. So I think you’re wondering if the Yod that’s being formed will impact this opposition? I can’t say without knowing what degrees your Chiron/Venus are at.

      • Josh [Sea]. (C) says:

Emm, yes, that’s what I’m curious about, thanks for the help! I have Chiron at 4 degrees Leo and Venus at 14 degrees Aquarius (in the 7th house with Saturn). Also, Uranus is at 16 degrees Capricorn (6th house with Neptune). How does that work out?

        • Nadia says:

That’s a pretty wide orb for an opposition. I usually don’t go beyond 6 degrees. So I wouldn’t factor your Venus into it. Your Chiron might be activated by transiting Venus, but it will be weak. You might experience this Yod as triggering insecurities around your identity/self-esteem. Your Uranus at 16 degrees Capricorn is way too far out of orb to be affected at all. When I give the number of degrees in my posts, it’s so you’ll know if any planets close by will be affected. But “close by” means within 1 or 2 degrees, max.
