Have you made some plans/promises lately? Did someone offer you a deal or opportunity? Back the truck up…you’re not driving off just yet. Jupiter went retrograde in Gemini today (at 16 degrees), and Mercury (Gemini’s ruler) is going to connect with Saturn in Libra, tomorrow morning (just before they both enter Scorpio).
So that exciting idea/bit of intel/invitation has not only hit a wall (Saturn), it’s going in reverse. What to do? Jupiter will be retrograde in Gemini until January 30th, 2013. That doesn’t mean all Gemini related things (communication, options, information) must be put on hold until then. But it does mean that you’ll have to review what Jupiter has brought you, since it entered Gemini on June 11, 2012. And there’s probably a good reason…Jupiter’s expansive energy can cause you to overlook certain details (Gemini). Or over-promise. Now’s the time to double check, and cut back if need be.
Mercury’s confrontation with Saturn will just be an initial check point. What’s the truth behind his/her charming words? Can you deliver on your promises? Can they? You’ll find out tomorrow. If the answer is “Yes”, you can move ahead. But things will progress more slowly (because of delays) while Jupiter is retrograde. If the answer is “No”…then drop it, reboot, and go back over existing plans and opportunities. Jupiter retrograde is a second chance. You can make a more appropriate choice, deliver a more thorough evaluation, or say it differently.
If you have planets between 6 and 16 degrees Gemini, Jupiter’s retrograde will impact you most strongly. If you have planets between 28-29 degrees Libra, the Mercury/Saturn conjunction will be a major reality check for you.
All i can say is this does not make me happy one bit!

Cos this Libra Rising was so happy w Saturn vacating and hopeful about things moving forward again, and now what do i read??? Jupiter retrograde until Jan. 13?
When is th slo-mo gonna END darn it…. I’m really sick of things being so slow, and re-do re-think re-consider and so on and so forth.

It may not be as bad as you think. Jupiter Rx does not shut down, it just slows down. But good things can still happen.
Thank you for this! Some days.. i feel i’ve ‘unlearned’ living at normal rhythms. Saturn so stopped me dead in my tracks these past few yrs. sometimes it feels i’ll never ‘be me’ or ‘have a life’ ever again. Thanks for bringing perspective to this

Sorry for the ‘spamming’ here… but i have a question : speaking of Venus, mine is conjunct Sun, in Gemini, respectively 21° & 23°. Both of them opposite native Jupiter at 29° Sag. How might this all play out??
I don’t think you’ll feel this transit. Jupiter will not be in orb of your Sun/Venus until May 2013. But when it does pass over your Sun/Venus you should feel some windows open.

Hello Nadia – I discovered your site a few weeks back in my search for information about Saturn in Libra. I was immediately impressed not only with your abilities to interpret and convey; but those of your devoted followers/students as well. I know enough about my chart to get by but lack the formal education to speak about the intricate details of my chart like. What I do know is that Saturn was merciless with me as a student to learn more about the human psyche, sub-conscious drives, love, Jesus Christ, music, justice, betrayal, money, what I stand for, my voice etc. etc. I surrendered to the trials and am pleased to say, I lived, I’m stronger and I’m ready. I documented every bit of this bittersweet journey, this morning I received the final dot to make the connection, A Full Circle. No small reward. Now, I must write the book. The next area for Saturn to influence is Scorpio, my rising sign. And it’s all about the cold hard cash and how I earn it. When I start seeing these dividends, I will be hiring you to provide a deeper understanding of what the stars, sun, moon and planets want me to give back. Hello Nadia, I follow this site weekly as well as other sites and find your interpretations of aspects to be uniquely on spot . ive been attracted to scorpio/? gemini for quite some time and new the time was near for a conclusion stuck in a groove.
on 1st of october i popped the question to take it to the next level and got a no with a are you kidding look. At least I got an off the top of the head answer and i can move on. Its been a strange experience to interact with this zodiac combination.we clicked on the first sight, however there were a few restrictsons on my part which over time were to be concluded .Of corse over time the butterfly changes quickly with words and thoughts. im aquarius 2-16-55 / 28.05 leo rising and thanks for the work that you do and share.

very insightful article. i found it because i am trying to launch a small business. i had all advertising set to debut when jupiter crossed into my ascendant (16gem12). it crossed over then almost immediately started going retro back into my 12th house. i just wonder what impact, if any, this retrograde period will have on the successful launch of my business. i’ve had nibbles, but no jobs have come through to this point.

Jupiter Rx over your AC might cause some delays (which should be rectified once Jupiter goes direct). But you’d have to take all the other transits hitting your chart into consideration. Saturn can cause delays as well.
I thought the Jupiter retrograde ends on Jan 30th? Does a Jupiter retrograde affect you significantly (from a wealth perspective), as my Saturn transit (Sadde satti – vedic astrology) ended in August and there is not a bit of respite? 29. Feb. 72. Bahrain. 8.05 a.m.
If you read the post carefully, you’ll see that I mention the date when Jupiter goes direct (it’s in the second paragraph). What area of your life Jupiter impacts depends on what house in your chart it’s moving through.
