Shadow Social: Libra New Moon In The 8th or 12th House

In my post about the social butterfly New Moon in Libra, I advised people to reach out and connect with others. But a few readers of this blog wondered (quite rightly) how this would apply if the New Moon fell in a quiet area of their chart (like the 8th or 12th house).

The 8th house is your intimacy area. It’s where you share with others, on a deep level. That means initiating light conversations that could lead to more. But what if intimacy isn’t your thing right now? What if you’re alone (by choice or circumstance)? Set your intentions to meet the type of person you’d like to be intimate with.

It’s more of a challenge to translate the outgoing energy of this New Moon to the introspection of the 12th House. What we’re talking about now is hidden potential, or initiating something that may not come to fruition for awhile. Once again,  set your intentions, but this time focus on a hidden part of yourself you’d like others to see (a favourable hidden part, obviously). Or go for the soul mate connection; the 12th House does symbolize your Ultimate Other. Open that path with a positive (Jupiter) message/communication (even if you’re just writing it down for yourself), backed up by the spiritual energy of the 12th House. And if you’d rather just enjoy the harmony (Libra) of your own company, that’s perfect too. Sometimes, you want to be alone even if the prevailing energy is social.

Thx Nadia, now this makes sense :)

what if a person has an empty 8 th house ? literally nothing in it!!
and as for my 12th house the only single thing in there is the sign of taurus!
i can never translate this…or find anything on empty house…
    Peace, T.

Looks like the New Moon will be in my 6th house (already packed with a super Libra stellium). Could this apply to new habits, rituals? A good time to start a good cycle of behaviors?

    Thanks!

    Hi Nadia,

I’m wondering if this new moon in Libra might enliven the Neptune (22 degrees Libra) conjunct Saturn in my 12th house. These planets are trine Jupiter (24 degrees Gemini) in the 8th house. In the recent Future Trends report you wrote for me, you talked about the dynamics affecting my relationship with my wife. Would the new Libra moon be good for initiating a deeper soul mate aspect of my relationship with her?

By the way, I really enjoy your choices of images to accompany your articles.

    Thanks!

Thank you…I enjoy selecting those images.
The NM could definitely open up some deeper perceptions for yourself, but I can’t say for sure how it will affect your relationship (sorry, I deal with so many charts I can’t remember the details of each report). What dynamics was I referring to?

Thanks Nadia, that does indeed make sense, I have understood alot of the influences as I have moon in libra in 12th house, but your words as always are shining a light on a couple of possibilities i hadnt yet discovered.

  6. Minerva says:

you have to look for libra in your chart. In which house in falls. If you have taurus in the 12th, above post is of no concern to you regarding the 12th.

Hi Nadia. I was born on October 16th does that make me fall under the 12th house and Pisces rising? And how do you know what house you fall into? Thanks and hope to hear from you soon dear.
