I received a request to write about the current sextile between Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio. So, here you go.
Right now, Saturn is at 10 degrees Scorpio and Pluto is at 9 degrees Capricorn; they are sextiling each other. A sextile is not an in-your-face aspect, but it’s harmonious. It hints at potential that you need to become aware of. However, Saturn and Pluto are in mutual reception, which means Pluto is in the sign that Saturn rules, and Saturn is in the sign that Pluto rules. This shared understanding will strengthen the sextile.
Pluto in Capricorn transforms existing structures/rules/limits. It does this by destroying whatever is rotting, and then uncovers new potential for power. It is being supported by Saturn in Scorpio, which focuses existing power/intensity. One feeds into the other.
The houses in your chart with Capricorn and Scorpio are where this energy exchange is taking place. The overall theme is removal of fear and increase of power. These are big, heavy words, but remember that this is not a dramatic aspect. It’s the energy of quiet labor and steady removal of obstacles. It will act as a background facilitator; don’t expect miracles from it, but do make use of it to strengthen your agenda.

- If I let go of ___, what will intensify in my life?
- If ___ intensifies in my life, what will it help me let go of?
The sextile has been active since (roughly) mid November, 2012. It was exact (at 9 degrees) on December 26th. It will continue to be active until April 3, 2013, and again from August 30, 2013 – September 30, 2013. The energy will peak (when the aspect is exact) on:
- March 8 (11 degrees)
- September 21 (8 degrees)
If you have planets/angles from 8 to 11 degrees Scorpio or Capricorn, you’ll receive the most benefits.
I have transiting Saturn in 12th house Scorpio and transiting Pluto in 2nd house Capricorn. What am I letting go of and what am I hoping will intensify?
I have the same Christina, I see Saturn through the 12th as working to rely on your inner guide to be the guide & facing fears & things you have stored away in your subconscious. Pluto through the 2nd strips away things that you used to value that are no longer working. It intensifies your focus to be directed towards your worth and what it is that you value.
12th House covers secrets, the subconscious, the unacknowledged, spirituality, dreams. 2nd House covers material resources and self-esteem. Think about what’s happening in those areas of your life, and how they might be connected.
This must be hitting my Pluto ASC in Scorpio. 8degree Pluto, 11 degree ASC
If your AC is at 11 degrees Scorpio, it will be bang on. A very nice influence on your identity and how you interact with people in general.
I feel it, but it’s definitely not in your face. Leading up to this last new moon was a real releasing of fears. It was the first time I felt ready to let them go once & for all… but in accord with how I feel others perceive me. Feeling stronger & fearless to finally assert my identity.
Ahhh – a sigh of relief here. This “background faciliator” transit might provide a nudge to move me forward on something that’s been dogging me. Transit Saturn has been conjunct my late 3rd house Neptune. This has been bringing more fears about my abilities to the surface. This has been helping me realize that I feed these doubts…and make things harder than they really are. I’m my own worst enemy. With transit Pluto in my 5th house of creativity, I’m hoping for some momentum to help loosen the grip that I’ve let my fears have on me…so I can get some writing projects done. Many thanks, you could not have said it better. This is describing my present state of mind and daily life experiences as if we have known each other all our lives. The 12th used to terrify me as I put too much focus on institutions, hospitals, etc. associated with this house. Now I see the need for self reliance to face those fears which may not be so bad and have probably taught you a great deal. (Just went through Saturn in my sun sign Libra) Along side this, my values are changing and for the better as I was not so much frivolous as confused and stressed. It has been a long hard 3 years and there are still some challenges, but I’ve learned to face them, be realistic and most important, work to be the person I once was before life threw me a few curve balls.

no prob Christina, yeah the 12th house Saturn transit is NOT easy. But, necessary… you have to try & find the spiritual route with it. It’s totally about trusting that throughout the journey, it will be okay. And the fact that you have the awareness of the transit gives you the upperhand if you do the work (saturn).
Glad to help! Pluto through the 2nd took me a bit to grasp, but I can see how my values have shifted tremendously over the last couple of years. I’ve learned to let go of material & security fears (I’m a Taurus), and reinvest in my goods from within. Best wishes to you
nadia could you write about houses- because people are confused what rules what- especially 8th and 12th, but also others where it comes to eg. money, family, kids, etc. it seems split between houses- like kids 5th, but 4th as well, but 8th(birth ) as well, same with money, same with family- brothers sisters vs parent vs ones own family- whatever that may be… 7th- one to one relationships- but does it exclude those with family? also houses for creativity?everybody is about kids, but there must be more houses apart from 5th that are artistic
like you did for aspects- conjuction, square, etc.- simple and understandable. because when you read online about what a house or a planet rules you are sure to 1. get frightened by at least something youve read, 2. in the end not have a clue what a house actually rules.
also does this sextile have any effect to natal saturn at 4 scorpio?
also if the moon is in 7th libra 11deg, but 1.5 deg apart from 8th house cusp, do pluto uranus affect 8th or 7th? pluto is in my 12th now uranus in 2nd
third if you could write what signs have positive aspects from uranus and pluto- if you already havent? (like you did when saturn went in scorpio for cancer + pisces).
i ask becuse you do this so well + plus i am in a crisis with heavy heavy aspects…. and dont nead misundertanding of what is going on or more fear

Natal Saturn at 4 degrees Scorpio would be too far out of orb to feel this sextile.
Pluto/Uranus would affect the your Moon in your 7th House. Doesn’t matter how close to a house cusp a planet is…the planet can only be in one house at a time, and that’s the house that’s impacted.

Ive never faced so many fears and unknowns in my life.
I just reached age 59 and widowed 2 1/2 yrs after being married 31.
I know I need to face these fears and let go..ie. Start the healing.

Transiting Saturn has just moved over your AC, so it is a new start for you (albeit a difficult one). This can be a strengthening influence for you; a new way of thinking (Pluto in the 3rd) supports a more powerful identity (Saturn in the 1st House). Know that Scorpio rising makes you a force to be reckoned with and there’s nothing you can’t handle. You’ve been through the worst already.

Saturn conjunct Neptune-10 dgrs in 2nd H(one’s possessions) Scorpio. Pluto in 4th H(home & family) Capricorn. The full moon in Cap was insightful beyond belief, I SAW the rotting. I also realized I did some of the damage inadvertantly. I possesed FEAR which effected my home & family in many ways. I hate mirrors!
