Jupiter Goes Direct In Gemini

Jupiter’s been retrograde in Gemini since October. While this hasn’t shut down  possibilities in the Gemini-occupied area of your chart, it’s probably slowed them down.  Well, get ready to jump ahead; Jupiter goes direct on January 30th (at 6 degrees Gemini).

What’s been delayed/denied/forgotten or overlooked will (once again) grab your attention. And this time you can move forward with it. This is Gemini, so it covers all forms of communication and ideas. If your optimism for a project or idea has stalled, you can expect to get excited again. If the number of options in a certain area has dwindled, they’ll start to multiply. If you, or someone else, said “I don’t think so” (when Jupiter went retrograde), watch for that tune to change. If you’ve been waiting for an answer, you’ll get it when Jupiter goes direct.

Overall, this is positive. Just remember that Jupiter expands existing energy, so if you’ve been experiencing some tensions (related to Gemini) those could be emphasized. The good news is that a solution or result will be close by, because Jupiter likes to move far and fast. Things will not be drawn out.

Jupiter will remain in Gemini until June 25th. If you’ve been putting off writing/contacting someone/sending out your resume/taking courses or otherwise expanding your interests, you’ve got a few months left to use this energy. Don’t let it go to waste.

I really really felt Jupiter’s movements this year, esp. the past 2 weeks as he slowed down:
    - People take a longer time to pay
    - They also just disappear. They don’t respond, even the normally stable ones totally flake out. Nuts.
    - I gained weight and can’t lose it no matter what. It started with Jupiter at the end of Taurus. For God’s sake, I don’t even have any appetite! Water sticks to my hips, it seems. Never had such a problem.
    - Much crying. Jupiter is stationing direct right on my Moon so the silliest things set me off. Talk about overblown emo. I laugh to tears, too.

    Mars at 27 Taurus/7H
    Moon at 7 Gemini/8H
    Venus at 13 Gemini/8H

Very stressful. Who knew so much depended on Jupiter behaving :)

Yes. :( Something People forget about Jupiter…it emphasizes everything, good and bad. Jupiter on the Moon can make you very emotional. Interesting about the water weight. The Moon is associated with water retention…I have a hunch this will dissipate when Jupiter goes direct.

    • Jackie Kash says:

I had the same thing. Irritability and and could not loose weight. Then went to a holistic doctor and he to me to do heavy metal detox using liquid chlorophyl and eating cilantro. Its easy to do I’ve lost weight and fill very calm now… :)

Much crying and persistant weight gain….absolutely agree…my 12th house transit of Jupiter in Gemini has been full of mystery and completely unexplained…I just don’t know why Im crying so much and have put on so much weight??!!!OMG will that happen too when Jupiter transits Cancer? The crying is bad enough for my cancer sun sign 1st house without Jupiter makng matters worse …. or is it just during retrograde this may be a problem?

    • Nadia says:

Another Jupiter Rx crying side effect. Interesting…I would say when Jupiter passes over your Cancer AC it will be a welcome relief. 12th House transits can be difficult, because they stir up a lot of buried issues. But when a planet comes out into the open and crosses your AC it’s usually a time of release.

    • H. says:

      MM,
I’ve got Cancer Sun and Mercury and was thinking that Saturn trine Cancer is unlocking the emotions as well.

Maybe it’s the same, emotional and water response exaggerated for you because of Saturn trine Cancer Asc.

I’ve found the Jupiter Rx in Gemini extremely stressful! It’s pretty friendly to my chart, too, but it’s just A LOT of spastic, thinky energy that I’ve had a hard time directing since the Rx station. I’ve definitely seen the degree to which I can over-intellectualize, though, which has been helpful. Saturn is going through my 3rd, emphasizing the need to train my mind.

  4. Christina says:

I moved across country for a new job last May. When Jupiter entered my 7th house Gemini, I made new contacts and formed interesting work and personal relationships. In November, out of the blue I lost my job which I had planned on for at least 3-4 years. With Saturn in the 12th and Pluto in my 2nd opposing my natal 8th house Uranus, Jupiter going retro was the final straw. I’m really looking forward to January 30th and those resumes are flying off the computer. Jupiter in Cancer in my 8th this summer will be conjuning my natal Uranus and trining 11th house sun. Maybe the tide will turn.

    • Nadia says:

Good luck! Also, remember that transiting Saturn in the 12th is about endings and letting certain situations go. That could be what is happening.

  5. Luna says:

My natal Mercury is in the same degree (6th) and in my 10th house, I am looking forward to it. I think I might feel it strongly… Counting down the days! :)

  6. Eme Kah says:

Well, it falls in my 11th very close to my 12th house, so I guess journaling?

    • Nadia says:

You’d interpret it in the 11th; friends, groups, public relations, hopes, wishes. As it moves into the 12th, it can trigger behind the scenes blessings or unexpected/hidden positive energies in your corner.

  7. siobhan says:

Wow! I’ve been crying throughout this transit too! Turned around on natal Venus, now about to station on my 11th house cusp. All about unrequited love from the last time the nodes made the SCO-TAU transit. Lots of karma going down for me right now. Phew!

  8. Debbie says:

mmm squaring natal chiron while sextil MC at the turning point, hoping this might be a good sign?

    • Debbie says:

PS actually in reflecting on your brilliant advice on the full moon post, I actually can see where the positive potential may be as well now, always nice to have a balanced view of things eh? :)

    • Nadia says:

Might emphasize those Chiron issues, but with potential for healing.

  9. Cassidy says:

Hello Nadia! Nice and hopeful post!
I have both natal Sun & Venus in Gem (23° & 21° respectively) opposed to natal Jupiter at 29° Sag. Not too much crying on this end, which is unusual. My ‘problem’ is being, as someone else mentioned, full of ideas, that tire me the minute i even think about putting them in motion. I’m feeling kind of like a ‘lost sailor’ stirring through the fog, seeing form and possible past in my peripheral vision, but trying to keep ‘on track’..with things i…’should’ have been doing something about for a long time, like 6 mos. Got so sick of turning these ideas in my head to see how workable or not they were, that i just kind of let go the whole thing. I’m relating a whole lot to that last line in your post: ” If you’ve been putting off writing/contacting someone/sending out your resume/taking courses or otherwise expanding your interests, you’ve got a few months left to use this energy. Don’t let it go to waste.”
That’s me alright……. I REALLY hope this change of direction in Jupiter’s travels will help me ‘get those resumés flying off the computer’ as someone else said here. Been feeling like a mollusk :-/ and this year, i got to rise to ‘the occasion’ of some pretty huge challenges. Could make or break the ‘rest of my life’. Crossroad kind of thing. Only i’m too ‘out of it’ to take action quite yet.
No gain weight, rather the reverse: i’m not eating enough…….

    • Cassidy says:

      forms & possible paths*

    • Nadia says:

Hi Cassidy…so all this action takes place in your 9th House? That’s great for forward movement (travel, literal and figurative).

      • Cassidy says:

May all the stars in heaven hear you, Nadia! Cos i’m going crazy being stuck at my current coordinates. Never seen such formless twilight as Northern European climate. I hope i can ‘rise to the occasion’. Being here ate up a lot of my self confidence. Hopefully the ‘action in 9th’ will shake that away… Thank you for your reply. Have a good and warm, week end.

  10. Cassidy says:

Oops, forgot to say: 9th house starts at 3° Gem

  11. Tracie says:

I’m REALLY looking forward to this!!! Jupiter direct will conjunct my daughter’s AC-8 in Gem-12th. The time seems right for her to move forward to finish dealing with things so she can LIVE. Her Cap-8th has Uranus-4, Saturn & Naptune-11 opposite Chiron-1 in Cancer-1st.
    She’s gifted at AVOIDING emotions & has no idea she’s doing it. Taurus-12th has Jupiter-27 & Mars-19 opposite her Pluto-15 in Scorpio-6th.
Shes’ successful, Sun-4 & NN-4 in Pisces 10th & Venus-23 in Aquarius-10th However, fear has scewed some of her decision making, not bad yet NOT living.

For me it’s conjunct Mars-8 in my 9th which is ruled by Jupiter. I’m a Cancer homebody so no traveling for me so maybe my understanding of life will be expanded.

THANK YOU for giving me some sunshine in this post. It’s time for my daughter to shine & it seems the skies are supporting this. BLESSINGS!!!!!!!

  12. Tracie says:

BTW I’m retaining water as well and my ankles are swelling but no crying. Extra hungry too, especially during the day which is unusual. Funny to see why in the charts.

  13. Christina says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you Nadia. I forgot about the Saturn in the 12th house i.e. endings and letting situations and things go. Paycheck aside, emotionally the job and co-workers ? Good riddance. BTW, I did my share of crying too. Now? That’s over, Jupiter is going direct and I am very happy that I moved here.

  14. Erin says:

This has really shed some light on Jupiter Rx. I have personally been VERY overwhelmed and stressed over the year and especially since about the time Jupiter stationed Rx. It’s about to station direct and I’m now beyond my ability to become even more distressed. On the fortunate side, I’m now much more aware of this tendancy I have.

Jupiter stationed in exact opposition to my natal 12th house Sag Neptune. I have Pisces Sun-Mercury, with Aquarius Moon sextile Neptune & trine Libra Pluto sextile Leo Saturn who is trine 12th Neptune. So, Jupiter also stationed trine my Pluto trine Moon, and sextile my Leo Saturn…quite a lot of supportive Jupiter transitory energy at hand. Which takes me back to Natal Jupiter in late Taurus sextile Pisces Sun-Mercury.

Jupiter will station direct in my 5th house where in is natally located. One of my kids (my almost 16 yr old Pisces Son) has become extremely manic over the past week. He was taken to a psych hospital after a psychotic episode during school. Pluto literally crossed my Cap Asc for the first time as Saturn crossed my 10th Uranus square Aquarius Moon and square Leo Saturn. Then my hospice team has lost 3 of it’s 5 RN’s in the last 3 weeks and my case load is growing, I’m way too stressed at this point but considering Jupiter Rx in Gemini and my natal Pisces Mercury Cazimi in the 3rd, well I’m really being called to first and moreso destress mentally. It’s like I get caught up in all the intense emotions and expect shit to get worse cause it has been, Just hoping to harness in on the more positive expansion of Jupiter now

    • Nadia says:

Sorry to read about your son. Thank you for sharing this…it must be unbelievably overwhelming. If nothing else, Jupiter direct should push for an outcome (rather quickly).

  15. Brenda says:

Good to see I am not the only one that dealt with emotional issues, weight gain, water retention and letting go of “stuff”. Lots of crying. I was a flaky mess. Issues I thought were buried deeply or gone came back and had to be dealt with, especially during Scorpio. and eclipses.

So, looking forward to the 30th and moving forward.

  16. Samantha says:

This definitely is ringing true for me. I’m in school right now and even though I still have more than a year to go, I’m networking like crazy. Talking to people in my field, trying to find internships and considering where I’d like to work when I graduate. It’s always on my mind even when I should be focusing on my classes. It’s going okay so far.
