Royalty And Martyrs: The Full Moon In Leo Hits Chiron

Painting by Vasily Surikov

There’s a Full Moon on January 26th at 7 degrees Leo (depending on your time zone, you may feel it in the early hours of January 27th).

Leo is big, bold and entitled. However, the Moon will be hit by a painful inconjunct to Chiron (Wounded Healer) in Pisces. Inconjuncts connect what’s incompatible, and demand adjustments. Leo shouts “Look at me!” Pisces whispers “It’s not really about me…”

Full Moons are energy that’s peaking, so this will be intense. 7 degrees Leo in your chart is where you may push for recognition. Something’s been building and you’ll want your share. But 7 degrees Pisces is where you’ll simultaneously shrink back from being recognized. Or, you’ll undermine yourself (or be undermined) when recognition comes your way. This could be the Moon that reveals how you handle (or feel hurt by) someone else’s success.  It’s a slippery combination, and there’s no clear winner on how to deal.

Best advice is this: don’t overdo it. Consider what you truly deserve (Leo) but don’t push beyond it. On the other hand, don’t martyr yourself (Pisces) because you’re uncomfortable (Chiron) with success (yours or theirs). Egos will be dissolved, but needless sacrifices won’t get any gold stars either.

Those with planets/angles between 6-8 Pisces, Leo and Aquarius will feel this Moon strongly.

With my natal Sun at 7 Leo, Moon at 5 Pisces, and being 2 months pregnant with all sorts of stress, this should be interesting! Thanks for the heads up.

    Hi Ruby,

Thank you for your insights on the coming Leo Full Moon, very informative!

I have natal Mars at 8 degrees Leo in the 10th house conjunct my Leo MC so the full Moon will be hitting them both. I am expecting career related news by the end of this month so this will probably be a very straightforward influence.

I am a bit worried because of the Chiron inconjunction you are referring to, do you believe chances are I won’t really get the professional recognition I am seeking and that someone else might be in the limelights instead?

I have no planets in Aquarius (4t house) or Pisces (5th).

By the way, I love the Russian Orthodox church painting you’ve posted above!

This full moon will conjunct my NN-8 degrees in Leo 11th which is opposite Saturn-8 degrees in Aquarius 5th. Move over to my Pisces 6th & I have Chiron-10, Moon-11 & Jupiter-12. Chiron is 5 degrees from it’s natal return.

I will definately feel this one! For the past two weeks things have been so intense with AHA moments, not bad just odd so I’m looking forward (I hope) to see what else shows up in my path.

    Thanks for another great post!!

Does the house matter at all in this? Jupiter at 3 Leo is my 8th house and Moon at 11 Aquarius is the 2nd house; yes, a little outside the range you mention, and I have a huge second house … not a huge income, though, :-)

  5. debbie says:

OH JOY note of sarcasm :( finally chiron moving off natal chiron at 6 pisces 37 and now this for this highly moon sensitive cancerian sun, yep can you just hear that long suffering martyred chiron comin through, chiron is in my 4th house and the return challenged me to heal or kowtow to my biological families attacks on that wound to force me back in line, i didnt and did the healing work mainly due to verbally cruel attacks from my brother which I dont hold any grudges for as I understand the reflective issues as well, however this full moon is just a degree past my MC and opposing my natal jupiter, I hope he’s not about to try again, as I dont want him to get hurt and he will be seen in a not good light this time, uranus is about to depart my 5th house and it could signify a sharp and permanently destructive burst from a sibling, so hoping it may be the complete opposite scenario?

    • Nadia says:

5th House represents children, 3rd House is siblings. The Full Moon close to your MC could impact your social status or one of your parents…

      • Debbie says:

ooo ok, thank you for that clarification Nadia, I can actually see what is happening with my adult children and it is actually positive change albeit a bit traumatic in the process, thank you thank you, having a bit of positive enthusiasm rising now. Blessings dear Messenger!

  6. Joshua says:

This might be a big one for me… The Moon hits my late 12th house.. right between my natal Chiron (4) and my Ascendant (10) in Leo.
Chiron transits my 8th House, approaching my natal Sun (11) .. And finally the Sun (and Mercury) are moving in towards my natal Moon/Mars (both 9 Aquarius).. right before my Descendant..
Eek, this Moon seems to be highlighing some key aspects of myself! It’ll be intense alright

  7. MajjikMoon says:

Gosh what could all this lunar energy mean for me…cancer sun conjunct mercury and mars 1st house squaring my 10th house chiron in Aries. My progressed asc conjuncts my leo moon at 7 degrees 2nd house. Then my progressed moon at 24 Aquarius 8th house gets hit by the new moon 2 wks later! My NN is 2 Pisces 8th house but not sure if thats relevant.Am i going to need protection here?

    • Nadia says:

So the Full Moon is in your 2nd House? Security issues.

      • MajjikMoon says:

O wow – BINGO – thank you Nadia for confirming that for me…I have had such a hard time deciding whether to stay put or shift my family (security) across town constantly changing my mind and hoping that something will get better (NN Pisces H8-letting go, allowing things to happen “stuff” with birth death regeneration “stuff”) if I just be patient and wait (blind faith)…I have no support where I currently live on my own with small children (their Dad left us for another woman while I was pregnant with our 2nd child who is now 18mths) without any support so I need lots of help to make the right decisions out of fear of making the wrong ones…Even though Jupiter Rx transiting my 12th has brought extra tears, fears and loneliness, it has also protected me in a sense where I turn inward to reflect, reflect and reflect again rather than react to situations and have started writing about my experience.I’m trying to be careful to not lock myself up to the point of not functioning healthily but I get so overwhelmed with the outside world,I feel safer within the four walls of my home and writing about “how to love” from an astrological perspective is helping me.I have developed psychosomatic symptoms from being a 12th house Gemini (can’t sleep due to not being able to switch my thoughts off-I have an extreme nervous twitch that wakes me when i finally drift off to sleep and therefore diagnosed with anxiety, depression and panic attacks) and am starting cognitive behavioral therapy next week.Im hoping this will be helpful (as well as daily shoulder massage self taught by my 7year old son my savior).I am positive about Jupiter going Direct in February to drive my decisions forward with more relative ease, and then crosses my AC at 23 Gemini – counting down the days to some much welcome relief.I absolutely love your insights Nadia…thank you so much for sharing.

  8. Tara says:

This full moon falls on my natal Transpluto and Vertex, which are conjunct in my 8th House. It also falls on my Moon-Saturn midpoint. 8 Pisces is my 3rd House cusp. Can you comment on any of these? Thanks.
