Mars in Aquarius has been shaking things up, breaking some rules and looking to start something new. Currently, it’s trining Jupiter in Gemini (exact on January 4th at 7 degrees). Jupiter expands, so it’s giving Mars an extra push. The possibilities feel limitless.
The houses in your chart with Aquarius and Gemini are where you can successfully initiate something new. These are Air signs, so it all starts in the mind. This is fantastic energy for the New Year, because there’s an ability to be innovative, but not get too crazy (a trine is a calm influence). So between now and January 4th, get started on something!
But (there’s always a but), be aware that Mars is also squaring Saturn in Scorpio (exact on January 7th, at 10 degrees). The area of your chart where Scorpio is transiting might throw some static. This will be a stumbling block, but it won’t be the end of the world. If Mars trine Jupiter has you fired up over some ideal, you’ll have to prove that it’s real (or that you’re committed). You’ll have to push past opposition (maybe from authorities, maybe from your own fears) but you can do it. Mars square Saturn always demands extra effort. And if your efforts don’t go exactly as planned, that’s ok. Saturn trims the fat; you’ll be left with whatever works best for you.
These influences are a mix of “Yes” (Jupiter) and “No” (Saturn). Somewhere in the middle is where you’ll find success.
If you have planets/angles between 5-10 degrees Aquarius, Gemini or Scorpio, you’ll feel these influences most strongly.

I always thought I had a handle on the 8th house and understand the “void” I think quite well, having gemini in 8th has prompted alot of inquistive searches in that area, yet I feel something really big happening, unseen, with Jupiter there and not quite able to get a “grip” on what the jupiter movements through my 8th house might be about, so feel I am neglecting a powerful opportunity. Any suggestions re 8th house would be appreciated or even any books with indepth information about this house?
The 8th House can represent buried psychological issues/things from the past. http://www.astro.com has a good article on this house.
Thx Nadia for your article. It throws some light to certain aspects in my natal chart, such as both Jupiter and Saturn influencing my natal Sun. Now it’s perfectly clear to me, why there has been such turbulences going on all my life in deciding ‘yes, I am!’ and ‘no, I don’t’. Also, since my AC is on 7 degrees Scorpio, upcoming transits prove to be interesting
Jupiter in Gemini falls in my 12th house and I certainly have had some useful insights these past few days. Aquarius falls in my 8th and I don’t know enough about investments to start anything fruitful in this area of my life. Saturn falls in my 5th and I’m definitely feeling a huge STOP sign when it comes to love, mostly internally. I have decided to take a break from dating.
Saturn in the 5th is an interesting mix; the 5th is about children (and your ego or inner child) and Saturn is about maturity.
Ah! Your comments are always so enlightening! You reminded me that 5th house children are not just people, but also brainchildren. From that perspective, I see this transit impacting my artistic maturity. (That sounds so pretentious.) That definitely entails putting my ego under control for the sake of improving my work (ie, submitting to criticism, being able to make “painful” changes to a work, etc.) Thanks so much, Nadia!
You’re welcome.
I have Saturn-8 degrees in 5th house Aquarius, it trines my Mars-8 degrees in 9th house Gemini. I have Neptune-10 degrees in 2nd house Scorpio.
For me the hardest part about astrology is knowing what these transits represent. I know we look at all of it but in what order; the house, the sign or the planet. The speed bump is in my Scorpio 2nd house & will conjunct my Neptune exact on 1/7.
Also, would we look at things those Natal planets touch as well? I have Saturn is semisextile to Chiron in 6th house Pisces.
Well written and easily understood as usual Nadia. Wishing you all the best in 2013.
Thanks…
Doesn’t matter what order you look at it in. As long as you understand the house is the area of your life that will be impacted, the planet is the trigger, the sign is “how”. Not sure I understand your second question…I think you’re asking if you look at natal planets touched by these transits? If that’s your question, the answer is “Yes.”
I’m in the process of looking for a new job and I wanted to think outside the box and try something different; something I could enjoy and be proud of. I received an application for an interesting non-profit start up but I know competition will be tough and they may be looking for someone younger. That said, I have Mars transiting my 3rd house Aquarius and trining Jupiter in 7th house Gemini. The fly in this ointment is as usual, Saturn transiting 12th house Scorpio. As a Libra, I’m just getting over Saturn in my sign, last years eclipses and Cardinal Grand Crosses.
Natal planets: I have Aquarius rising (3 degrees), Moon in Gemini at 5 degrees and Saturn in Pisces at 5. I am rarin’ to go, but I still have 2 kids on school vacation for the next few days so that is definitely my brake – after nearly two weeks of vacation, I am losing my mind! If I can get through Sunday I can get through anything!
