Let's say there are some things you have believed since childhood. These ideas are the foundation that you've built your life on. Then, in the space of a few months, they're destroyed and you're left sitting in the rubble. What now?
Pluto's current transit means that anyone with planets in Capricorn is going to be hit with some major league transformation. A member of my family has Mercury in Capricorn and currently Pluto is right on top of it. She won't be free of this influence until early next year.
Mercury in Capricorn thinks traditionally. Mercury is also in her 4th House (home and childhood) so her ideas were formed when she was very young and became the structure (Capricorn) that she built her life around. These ideas repeated unhealthy relationship patterns learned from her parents (Capricorn carries the generational torch).
When Pluto touched her Mercury it started to yank out those deeply rooted ideas and the results were painful. She got divorced, had her eyes opened to a betrayal and put her mother in a care facility. Nothing went the way she thought it would.
But there's more. Pluto is all about internal transformation. The purpose of this transit is to break down the rigid (Capricorn) perceptions that were holding her back. For the first time she has started therapy and has been exploring alternative medicine (Reiki, energy work, etc.) This is a huge leap for her because she habitually avoided looking beneath the surface.
The upside is that once this transit is over she will have a brand new way to view herself. She is reconstructing her childhood so that she can become a stronger adult.
