There's two, critical oppositions building this week. The Sun in Taurus opposing Saturn Rx in Scorpio (exact on May 10th) and Venus in Aries opposing Mars Rx (exact on May 11th). I'm going to devote a post to each, starting with Sun/Saturn today (I'll cover Venus/Mars tomorrow).
The Sun/Saturn opposition takes place at 20 degrees, but you may feel the influence as early as May 8th (when the Sun is at 18 degrees). As I said in the Mercury/Saturn post, an opposition is a culmination; a result or ending. The transiting Sun is a more general influence than Mercury, but this opposition will take place at the same degree as the Mercury/Saturn opposition. So think back to May 2nd: was there a final answer or realization? What happens on May 10th will be connected. It could be a confirmation of what you learned, or an event connected to that answer, or the results of what you were compelled to focus on. The basic principles are the same (Saturn Rx pushes you to focus, dig deeper or establish boundaries) but the trigger may not be specifically Mercury-themed.
The Sun is a spotlight, and when it shines on Saturn Rx in Scorpio, the Shadow is pronounced. This feels like more of a direct focus on the Saturn/Scorpio part of the equation (than the Mercury opposition). Maybe you'll be dealing with the fears stirred up by Mercury's "No." Or maybe you'll have to follow up with a promise you made (to yourself or another). It's funny how making a definitive statement can stir up all sorts of fears. There is no going back, no changing your mind. Will you be able to keep your promise? It seemed easy enough at the time, but now...Saturn's iron-bound commitment is looming large.
18 to 20 degrees of the Fixed signs is where it's at for this opposition (same as the Mercury/Saturn opposition).
