Venus struts her stuff in Leo from August 12th to September 5th. All Venus themes (romance, values, money, self-esteem, beauty) will be polished and put on display. Venus wants the best when she's in Leo, and that translates to attracting attention by putting yourself in the spotlight.
Not everyone will experience Venus in Leo this way, but this transit will certainly help to make you aware of what you have to offer. Or, conversely, what you'd like to attract that enhances your creativity, self-expression or status. Yes, this transit is selfish. It's not about what you can do for others, it's about what you want.
And that's ok. It's essential, actually. Leo is the sign of ego, and without ego, you'd have no way to express who you are. Venus in Leo is a reminder that if you want the best, you need to bring your A game. Do you realize that your current partner, or the types of people that you're currently attracting, are a reflection of where you are in your life? The energy that you put out resonates with certain people. If you want a partner that you can be proud of, you need be someone who is proud. Venus in Leo demands that you ditch the martyr cloak, the long-suffering mother sweater, or the tee-shirt that says "Use me and discard me." You're exchanging those sad rags for the rocking, audacious outfit that fits you perfectly, and enhances the quality that makes you stand out.
Venus in Leo wants you to know this: if people don't love you for who you are (not who you can be, but who you are this very minute) then they have no place in your life.
The area of your chart occupied by Leo is where you can put yourself first. It's where you can shine, where you have a talent or ability that can grab attention. It's your box of pure self-expression, and transiting Venus will urge you to open it.
But she's not going to sail through Leo without making aspects. Her first aspects will trigger the Jupiter/Neptune inconjunct. From August 15th to 16th, she'll inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces at 6 degrees, and on August 17th she'll conjunct Jupiter at 7 degrees. Take everything I wrote about Jupiter inconjunct Neptune, and add Venus themes. Love, money and self-esteem will be pumped up, but it's best if you don't gamble everything you have from August 15th to 17th. Or, if you're going to bet it all, be prepared to release expectations. There's an adjustment needed between what you want, and what you can't quite see.
Here are the other aspects Venus in Leo will be making, which I'll write about closer to the dates:
- August 21st: inconjunct Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 11 degrees
- August 25th: inconjunct Chiron Rx in Pisces at 16 degrees and trine Uranus Rx in Aries (also a New Moon in Virgo)
- August 26th: square Saturn at 17 degrees Scorpio
- August 27th: square Mars at 18 degrees Scorpio (and conjunct Lilith !)
