Mercury stations Rx on January 21st (at 17 degrees Aquarius) one day after the Aquarius New Moon.
Since Rx (reversed) motion indicates revisions, delays or returns to the past, this energy seems incongruous on the heels of the New Moon. But any Rx motion is an intensification of existing issues, so this could be a case of new beginnings given extra traction.
Mercury Rx in Aquarius will push you to look more closely at new/innovative/rule-busting ideas. Will they work? Now's your chance to think carefully, because there's bound to be delays before or immediately after the launch. You may also find yourself obsessing about one issue. Aquarius is a Fixed sign, and can become fanatical about the idea of doing it differently. This sign has been known to do the exact opposite of what's suggested, just because. There may be knee-jerk reactions to the rules. This transit can also stir up awareness of how you fit/don't fit in with the group.
Whatever begins on this New Moon will probably not unfold according to plan. Aquarius is always difficult to predict, and Mercury Rx can triggers misunderstandings, last minute reveals or changes. But this doesn't mean you should put off an important event; sometimes a delay is exactly what's needed. I believe that Mercury Rx (and all associated events) happens for a reason.
Aquarius' resonance with electronics makes this Mercury Rx especially tricky for all technological issues. Make sure you back up your files, and don't rely solely on one mode of communication.
Mercury will Rx from 17 degrees to 1 degree Aquarius (where it will station direct on February 11th). This range will be emphasized for all the Fixed signs. To a lesser extent, anything in this range for the Air signs will also be hi-lighted.
