The Sun in Pisces conjuncts Chiron (Wounded Healer) at 17 degrees, on March 7th.
Sun is ego, and Chiron is flaws, vulnerabilities and failures. Chiron is what you can't do, or what you're not as good at as everyone else. And Pisces dissolves the ego.
When Chiron and the Sun unite in Pisces, there's a blend of ego and failure, life force and wounding. The Sun flares up and dies, then flares up again. What hurts is in the spotlight, and so is the current of dissolution that swirls around it.
This can go either way. You become bitter and victimized by what you can't achieve, and drown in your sorrows. Or, you gain compassion and wisdom through your failures/wounds, and transcend (Pisces) the typical definition of what you "should" do. The highest use of Chiron's energy is helping others in the area that you struggle with. But not everyone wants to be a teacher (although if Chiron is emphasized in your chart, you are meant to guide others, via the house/sign that Chiron occupies).
But regarding this conjunction, if it's hitting a planet/point in your chart, you may simply be confronted with an area where you can't succeed in the usual way. Chiron is the outsider, as much of a rebel as Aquarius. But Chiron's rebellion isn't based on breaking rules. The rules break Chiron, and Chiron's comeback is the alternative healing path, or the enhanced wisdom of hard experience. Transiting Chiron rubs you raw, so you feel insecure or victimized. Pay attention to that feeling, because it's your conduit to something greater. Greater compassion, patience or understanding. Perhaps a deeper relationship with someone. Chiron adds softness to the Sun's pure ego energy, and the Sun illuminates what Chiron can do for you.
This is an interesting lead up to the Mars in Aries action from March 10th to 11th (Mars will trine Jupiter, conjunct Uranus and square Pluto). Jupiter in Leo will encourage/inflame confidence, Uranus will trigger impulsiveness, and Pluto will push the aggressiveness button. Very much a me-first surge, but also prime territory for pushing the wrong agenda, or getting involved in destructive power struggles. Beware of hammering your point home, just because you just know it's the right thing to do. You may be right, but try to operate from a place of allowance; allow for the fact that others believe (just as passionately as you) that they are right.
Sun/Chiron can help you handle the Mars influences with grace, if you tune into what it means to be vulnerable, yet full of life. One state does not invalidate the other.
If you have natal/Progressed planets, angles or Nodes from:
- 16 to 19 degrees of the Mutable signs, you'll feel the Sun/Chiron conjunction
- 13 to 16 degrees of the Cardinal signs, or Leo, you'll feel the Mars action
