I wanted to discuss a few aspects that are coming up. I wrote about them in the weekly horoscopes, but let's take a closer look.
Venus, Pluto, Scorpio and Virgo: The Quality of Authenticity
Venus' trine to Pluto (at 13 degrees) will be exact on October 23rd, but the trine is active now. Pluto intensifies whatever it touches, so a harmonious aspect to Venus in Virgo suggests relationships/money/self-esteem/values are supported if you honour the Virgo details. Meaning, drill down to the essential facts and focus on getting it right. This is a time for specifics. This is a time for high standards, for improvement, for quality. It's also a time for the truth, which can become an obsessive goal with a Pluto/Virgo combo.
The Sun's Scorpio ingress will also happen on October 23rd, and what better way to herald the start of Scorpio season than with an enhanced serving of Virgo facts (Pluto rules Scorpio, and Pluto will be activated by Venus). Scorpio adores the truth, and will not accept an answer unless it causes some discomfort. It's not authentic unless it makes you squirm. The Scorpio area of your chart is where you give up some control, but also where you fight to gain control. Scorpio's magnetism is based on tension between the awareness of Death/the Shadow versus the drive to understand these things. There's fear, and an underlying rush towards the depths, because that's where the answers are.
October 23rd may be a particularly intense day for some, especially since Mars in Virgo will oppose Chiron Rx (at 17 degrees). Right there, you have the potential for actions (Mars) to open wounds (Chiron) or trigger insecurities. It feels like the pursuit (Mars) of facts may uncover something unhappy. Mars will inconjunct Uranus Rx in Aries on October 24th, so there's an uneasy confrontation between doing it right versus just doing it. Both are valid, because the inconjunct demands adjustment between the two.
The truth is going to make things messy.
I don't see this as a bad thing. With all that Scorpio/Pluto energy, it feels necessary. There's nothing superficial about these influences. Scorpio's power is diminished by surface niceties, and Virgo likes a bit of discomfort. If something's "off" that means there's room for improvement. You've got the Master Fixer (Virgo) and the Master Investigator (Scorpio) powered up and working for you.
Venus, Jupiter, Mercury and Uranus: The Surprising Benefits
Venus' move from her trine with Pluto to her conjunction with Jupiter (on October 25th at 15 degrees) says that 13 to 15 degrees Virgo is the power spot in your chart. Pluto sharpens Venus' focus, in preparation for her expansive union with Jupiter. Basically, you can attract more if you strategize, fix what's broken, and then go for it (Jupiter). Venus/Jupiter is about confidence in what you know (Virgo), but also seizing the unexpected opportunity. Yes, she's building to an opposition with Chiron in Pisces/inconjunct with Uranus Rx in Aries (exact on October 27th), so there's a caution to not go overboard. If you expect all your problems to be fixed, or ___ to be perfect, you'll probably be disappointed. But I think everyone knows the Virgo drill by now; there's no such thing as perfect.
Also on October 25th, we have an opposition between Mercury in Libra and Uranus Rx in Aries (at 17 degrees). Venus rules Libra, so that resonates with Mercury (in Libra). The surprise announcement/reveal/conversation could be very, very good. Maybe that hunt for the truth wasn't such a bad idea after all. Note the continuation of the honesty theme. Mercury in Libra wants to say the nice thing, but the opposition to Uranus will blow right past that and slap you with the truth. Goes well with Scorpio and Virgo.
The overall vibe is authenticity. It's not going to let up anytime soon (Mercury enters Scorpio on November 2nd, which I'lll write about). If it sounds/feels fake, it's going to drain you. If you try to play it safe by dusting everything with sugar, you'll be wasting your energy. And this isn't just about you and them. It's about you. Are there some personal truths you've been avoiding? If you take the plunge and come clean, you may uncover some surprising benefits.
