Did you know that transiting Venus has different phases, similar to the Moon?
Venus' alignments with the Sun are called her synodic cycles. It takes approximately 584 days for Venus to complete one cycle. On Aug 15th, Venus Rx will conjoin the Sun in Leo, forming an "inferior conjunction." It will mark the end of a synodic cycle that began on January 11th, 2014. And it will mark the start of a new cycle. It will also be a shift in how we physically see Venus; she'll transition from Evening to Morning star (but won't be visible in the morning sky until August 19th or 20th).
Just as the New Moon is a time of new beginnings, so is Venus' inferior conjunction/Morning Star phase. 22 degrees Leo will be the hot spot for this, so if you have anything within 1 degree (or if you have a birthday on Aug 15th) pay attention. Keep in mind that Venus will be Rx, so consider what is being revealed, reconsidered or clarified, as seed-planting time. I'm aware of the potential confusion: astrologers tell you not to start anything during Rx periods, and yet Venus Rx marks the start of a new cycle. It may help to remember that any new phase (New Moon, new Venus) is a "dark" phase. Venus will actually be invisible (in the sky) until August 19th or 20th. This is the time to consider, prepare or ask questions, but not (if you can help it) take action or make a commitment. Venus' direct station (September 6th, 2015) will still be a good time to get the ball rolling.
On October 26th, 2015, Venus (at 16 degrees Virgo) will be as far from the Sun as she can possibly be (the Sun will be at 3 degrees Scorpio). What began on August 15th should be fully revealed or initiated (full-steam ahead time). June 6th, 2016 will mark the half-way point of her cycle, when Venus direct conjoins the Sun again (at 16 degrees Gemini). This is known as a "superior conjunction." This is essentially her Full Moon phase -a culmination of what began on August 15th, 2015. The conclusion of this cycle (and start of the next one) will occur on March 25th, 2017, when Venus Rx conjuncts the Sun at 4 degrees Aries.
Venus' cycles are (obviously) attuned to relationships, resources and self-esteem. They're worth noting, especially if you have anything around the degrees that I mentioned for the upcoming phases, or a birthday on those dates. But everyone can make use of her cycles. Once you become conscious of her waxing and waning energy, you can use the phases to start or end something Venus-related. It's a way to fine-tune your efforts, or (if you're into predictions) forecast how something love or money related may unfold.
