Asteroids are not a major theme on this blog, but I take note of significant transits. There's one coming up, as Juno enters Virgo on June 30th (or July 1st, depending on your time zone).
Juno is about power dynamics in committed partnerships. Specifically, she deals with issues around fidelity, and the shift of power in relationships. She's named after Zeus' wife, who was the Goddess of Marriage, remaining faithful while he putzed around with various lovers (although she did take vengeance on his lovers).
Juno is "the wife." The issues she brings up are not just about commitment, but how you handle the shift in power when you commit to someone. And there is a shift a power. When you make a commitment to be faithful, you are saying that your partner will be at the head of the line, no matter who else expresses interest. You're trusting that your partner will honour the commitment, as you do.
How that plays out depends on your partner, and what commitment means to you. I've seen a disproportionate number of polyamorists with natal Juno in Sagittarius. They still honour their commitments to their partners.
Juno in perfectionist Virgo will accentuate pure, stainless commitment, with no room for error. This could be good, if you've been tolerating a partner who continually dishonours their commitment to you (Juno in Virgo suffers no slackers). But if you're paranoid about your partner straying to begin with, this transit could accentuate your fears. Then, the issue will be zeroing in on what exactly scares you so much about the threat of an unfaithful partner (even if they've never been unfaithful). Juno in Virgo is willing to work to improve a relationship, but she can go bananas with the analysis and paranoid suspicions.
She won't be directly involved with Venus Rx in Virgo (she'll be at 7 degrees Virgo when Venus enters this sign) but there will be an overall emphasis on doing relationships the right way (the Virgo way). There will be zero tolerance for questionable behaviour and half-assed commitments.
The significance of Juno transits is debatable. Some people are highly sensitive to her, with transiting Juno over their 7th House cusp, or conjuncting their 7th House ruler, when they meet their future spouse. For others, transiting Juno comes and goes with minimal impact. It depends how pronounced she is in the natal chart.
Juno will be in Virgo until September 17th, 2015.
