The dark and dazzling January 23rd Full Moon in Leo (at 3 degrees) suggests revealing drama. It hits while Mercury Rx in Capricorn conjoins Pluto and squares a Uranus/Black Moon Lilith opposition.
Mercury Rx will square Uranus in Aries on January 20th (16 degrees) then conjoin Pluto on January 22nd (15 degrees). This suggests a high-pressure reveal, as secrets (Pluto) are forced out into the open, rather abruptly (Uranus). This could refer back to December 19th to 20th, when Mercury direct aspected Pluto and Uranus. Now, during the bright spotlight of the Full Moon, we may see the results or acceleration of that initial realization. Black Moon Lilith's opposition to Uranus will perfect on January 24th (16 degrees) adding taboo words from the fringe. January 11th's BML/Pluto square may have been a preview.
Leo Moons always have a touch of drama. Leo Full Moons are high wattage drama where everything is exposed. Leo has an audience, and in this case, Mercury Rx's aspects suggest the audience will get quite a show. There may be something that needs to come out; perhaps the spotlight will shine on an injustice. Leo Moons can also be heavy on the glamour, and Pluto/BML will certainly add dark magnetism. Something beautiful, but dangerous (or corrupt).
And there's more...
...Venus will enter Capricorn on January 23rd, hitting this Moon with a gritty inconjunct. Venus in Capricorn's sober focus on the necessities of what's desired will not blend easily with this Moon's glitz. Both Leo and Capricorn are status conscious, but they approach it in very different ways. This suggests tension between the desire for respect/commitment versus the draw of something flashier. Or, creative/romantic freedom versus the repression of tradition. A Full Moon/Venus inconjunct speaks to a desired achievement. But it doesn't feel quite right. There's too much tension for it to be comfortable. Not to mention whatever Mercury Rx will have to say.
Maybe you get what you want, and it's more than you bargained for.
Finally, Jupiter Rx will perfect its conjunction to the North Node in Virgo, adding a hopeful note to the proceedings. No matter what goes down, there will be reasons to be thankful, things to look forward to, and maybe a reason to celebrate. Just because something is exposed doesn't mean it all turns to s**t. Sometimes exposure is the catalyst that boots you onto the correct path. Sometimes exposure brings you all sorts of attention that you're unprepared for, even though you're moving in the right direction. Amidst the swirl of light and dark, remember that Jupiter Rx/North Node in Virgo asks you to focus on the essentials. Watch the details, keep correcting, keep refining. No matter how distracting things get, there's still a finite list of things to go over.
If you have anything from 0 to 4 degrees of the Fixed signs, or Capricorn, you'll feel this Full Moon most strongly.
