Mercury in Capricorn squares Black Moon Lilith in Libra, at 17 degrees. Formal communication or structured ideas will be edged with Lilith's anger. This is a sharp-tongued aspect, featuring BML's bite. It's close enough to the previous Uranus/Lilith opposition, and Pluto/Lilith square, to continue those themes; what you hear, say or learn may be connected. Too, judgemental (Capricorn) words (Mercury) could be used to shut down the outsider's voice.
Pluto in Capricorn squares Vesta in Aries, at 16 degrees. Hard aspects to Pluto can trigger obsession; Vesta's pure devotion to self, independence and primal expression of will could be distorted to the point where it becomes obsessive. Pluto may represent a powerful threat to independence. Vesta may represent a threat to Pluto's power. The reaction will make it easy to go overboard and fixate (Vesta), or attempt to stamp out (Pluto) the threat, especially if you have anything around 16 degrees of the Cardinal signs. This is where it's important to draw the line between constructive devotion to your sacred flame, and obsession that drains your power.
In general, 16 to 17 degrees of the Cardinal signs is a current spot of tension. Mercury and Pluto in Capricorn represent the establishment, BML and Vesta are the outsiders. BML and Vesta will form an exact opposition on February 7th, and I'll write about that on the date. But since they're within orb now, consider the polarity between these two: Vesta with her pure devotion, and Black Moon Lilith with her raw sexual energy. The opposition is bringing up some questions about devotion to self (Aries) versus relationship dynamics (Libra). Vesta is not really about virginity. Rather, her focus is a very specific conduit for sexual energy. BML's use of sexual energy is wild, unfocused, and (if distorted) destructive.
