The Sun enters Taurus on April 19th. This is the most deliberate sign, and that quality is based on taking what's already there and making the absolute most of it. Taurus knows how to maximize existing resources.
This sign is not about innovation or risk. That was Aries. You may feel the tempo slow, as what was initiated during Aries season now takes root. The Mars and Pluto retrogrades applied the brakes a few days earlier. Once Mercury stations Rx in Taurus (April 28th) and Venus enters Taurus (April 29th) you may suspect that life has come to a grinding halt.
Things won't stop completely, but the next few weeks (up to May 20th and 24th, when the Sun and Venus enter Gemini, respectively) will be very slow. It's always best to work with the current astrological climate, so during this time, consider the Taurus section of your chart. That's where you tend your garden. You weed, water and watch what you planted. Taurus is where you maximize your security (financial and emotional) by taking stock of what's come into your life so far. Whatever that is...whatever seeds you've sown...you're stuck with them for now. If you don't like the crop, it's not the time to planet something new (not yet). But you can prune and pluck what doesn't directly enhance your security. Or, if what's growing is not as lush as you'd like, you can concentrate on making it better. Build up your self-esteem, values, savings account, relationship. The point is, you're working with what's already there.
As the pace decreases, you'll have to increase your patience. This is the time for perseverance, not pushing. If something's not happening, redirect your attention to fortifying other good things in your life: boundaries, self-sufficiency, simple pleasures. Taurus is one of the most basic signs, but basic does not have to be boring. The highest expression of this sign is to progress from surviving to thriving, which means indulging in the uncomplicated goodies. Find one thing that you love, that makes you happy, that confirms your sense of self, and that's Taurus. If all you have is that one thing, work it. If you have more, consider yourself blessed.
