Here we are, looking towards the start of another year. 2011 promises to grab our attention from the start with a solar eclipse on January 4th at 13 degrees Capricorn. The eclipse takes place on a New Moon so it will signify a major beginning. Capricorn is the sign of government, boundaries, status quo, power and ambition. Think about that for a second.
No doubt there will be some happenings on the world stage but you're probably more concerned with what this eclipse could mean for you. Take a look at your chart and see where 13 degrees Capricorn is. If it falls on an angle (the cusp of your 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house) you'll feel this eclipse strongly. Same deal if it's within 1 or 2 degrees of any your planets or if it sets off an aspect pattern in your chart. For example, let's say your Moon is at 12 degrees Taurus and your Venus is at 13 degrees Virgo. The solar eclipse in Capricorn will form a temporary grand earth trine in your chart (the eclipse will activate the missing 3rd point of the trine).
How you'll experience this eclipse really depends on the area of your chart that it falls in. Because it's in an Earth sign there's huge potential for everyone to manifest something real. If it falls in your 6th House (health and work) it would be an excellent time to start a new diet or exercise routine. If it falls in your 2nd House (security and possessions) you can start a new plan to increase your finances.
Of course, Capricorn is also the sign of discipline and work. So you can bet that whatever you start will require a significant investment on your part. But that's what makes it worthwhile.
