This New Year starts out with a bang. There's a New Moon (at 10 degrees Capricorn) on January 1st. It will line up with Pluto and Mercury (in Capricorn) while squaring Mars in Libra, and Uranus in Aries.
It may seem like a continuation of the tensions felt over the past week. But keep in mind, this is a New Moon. A fresh chapter. I view it as a much needed beginning that will be propelled by the square from Mars. Mars in Libra can be the social agitator, the ambitious suitor, or the relationship change whose time has come. And Uranus (liberation) will be there to make sure that anything stale or limiting is blown away.
It won't be mellow. Some may find it unnerving. But it will be crackling with ambition, initiative and forward momentum. Mercury (communication and information) with Pluto (power) promise blockbuster insights or conversations that cement your determination to push. All the stuff from last week will still be in play, but you'll turn a corner. You'll have to; what other choice do you have with a New Moon powered by Mars and Uranus? Or, you may just choose to walk away. Pluto in Capricorn will add extra power to this one. Capricorn crystallizes potential, and Pluto makes it bone deep.
This Moon is really quite hopeful for those of you feeling trapped/exhausted by the current tensions; change is on the horizon. If believe in making resolutions, you won't get a better opportunity than this.
If you have planets/angles from 10 to 13 degrees Libra, Capricorn, Cancer or Aries, you'll be especially fuelled by this Moon. But everyone can use it; the Capricorn area of your chart is where you can light the fuse for your new beginning.
