There was a question on this blog about current changes for Capricorn and Taurus, so I decided to write a post on all the Earth signs (Virgo is being hit too).
At their most basic level, Earth signs are physical. Any changes that hit planets/angles in these signs will be felt in the physical world (even if they initially take place under the surface). The transformations will eventually be obvious, if any changes took place at all. Not everyone with Earth sign planets will be compelled to change...some will have no choice, but others will stick their heads in the mud and pretend nothing is happening.
Capricorn is currently being transited by Pluto (until March 2023) and squared by Uranus in Aries (until March 2019). I wrote posts on Pluto in Capricorn here and here (as well as many others that you can find by looking in the Categories section under Pluto or Capricorn). Pluto is excavating beneath Capricorn's structures/habits/limits, while transiting Uranus is challenging Capricorn's boundaries by urging this sign to move forward. Key phrase: massive update.
Taurus is being opposed by Saturn in Scorpio (until December 2014). This transit is almost done, but it would have focused Taurus on the essentials via restriction. Emphasis was on what had true value, due to commitment or lack of resources. There's a post on that transit here. Expansive Jupiter in Leo will be squaring Taurus from July 2014 to August 2015, which could be like the feast after Saturn's famine (even though these transits will overlap). Key phrase: remember Saturn's lessons.
Virgo is being opposed by Neptune in Pisces until the end of March 2025. Neptune will dissolve Virgo's narrow focus, allowing (hopefully) a more open-minded acceptance of certain things (less perfection/more compassion, less worry/more release). Here's a post on Neptune opposing Virgo. Key phrase: let go.
And Pluto is trining planets in Virgo and Taurus, empowering their energies by intensifying Virgo's discrimination, and Taurus' survival instincts. Trines are harmonious, so they'll be forming background support: something for Virgo and Taurus to lean on while they deal with their respective oppositions.
I mentioned somewhere in the comments that I felt Capricorn and Taurus were going through deep, slow transformations (even with Uranus' influence). This is true for Virgo as well. Even if the initial trigger is abrupt, it takes a while for the changes to surface (in most cases). What you finally see are the results of transformations that began a year or two ago.
Earth is not light or fluid. Even Mutable Virgo has some rigid habits to deal with.
