July 2nd to July 4th will be Pluto days.
The Sun in Cancer opposes Pluto Rx (at 12 degrees Capricorn) exact on July 4th. And Venus in Gemini inconjuncts Pluto, exact on July 3rd. You'll feel both of these influences building from July 2nd (or even today).
The big one is Sun opposite Pluto. Since an opposition is culminating energy, this will represent a build up (and possible release) of what's been brewing in Capricorn (in your chart). Pluto has been stirring the pot with huge changes (metaphorical deaths) that will eventually leave that area of your life unrecognizable from its previous state. Pluto brings "death" but also birth. It doesn't just slash and burn; the final goal is something more powerful, because it's authentic. The process of getting there can be quite painful, because Pluto usually works by ripping something away. The opposition suggests an outside force or power struggle that is projected (by you onto others, by others onto you).
The transiting Sun will act as a spotlight or trigger for the ongoing Pluto evolution.
Cancer/Capricorn is about the following:
Any or all of these themes have been getting a re-boot. The dates of the Sun's yearly oppositions to Pluto (since it first entered Capricorn) have marked notable moments along the way:
- June 23, 2009 (0 degrees)
- June 25th, 2010 (4 degrees)
- June 28th, 2011 (6 degrees)
- June 29th, 2012 (8 degrees)
- July 1st, 2013 (10 degrees)
As Pluto churns up Capricorn's foundations, the oppositions to the Sun have acted as bookmarks. For some, the July 4th opposition may be the end of your Pluto journey. For others, it may be one of many chapters. Much depends on your chart. This opposition will be hitting degrees that were active during the Grand Cardinal Cross, so there may be a review of those issues (especially since Pluto is Rx).
Adding to the mix, Venus in Gemini gets hit by that inconjunct. Venus just wants to flirt, chat, buzz over her options, and stay light. Pluto Rx demands that she make a choice, and it will be the choice that pleases authority, or that's in line with the transformative agenda. But as Pluto lowers the hammer, Venus has to find a way to remain true to herself. Venus is relationships/money/self-esteem, so we have a potential scenario where someone feels cornered and compelled to make a choice (in one of the Venus-ruled areas). But is it the right choice, or will they be mowed down by oppressive/obsessive influences?
All this, against the backdrop of the Sun/Pluto opposition. Best advice: honour the transformations, release who or what wants to leave, but don't lose yourself.
You'll feel the opposition most strongly if you have natal or progressed planets/angles/Nodes from 10-14 degrees of cardinal signs. You'll feel the inconjunct if you have anything from 11-12 degrees Capricorn or Gemini.
