The upcoming New Moon (on January 20th) is at 0 degrees Aquarius. It happens on the same day that Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) makes an exact conjunction to the transiting South Node (a culminating situation) in Aries. It also coincides with the Sun's ingress to Aquarius, so if your birthday is on January 20th, this New Moon will be part of your Solar Return. This means tremendously concentrated energy in one area of your Solar Return chart.
New beginnings with a Uranian flavour are the theme. Uranus/Aquarius is detached, so breaks for freedom are abrupt. "It's nothing personal" says Aquarius "but I have to move on." No fuss, no muss, no attachments.
Uranus over the South Node indicates a clean break from the past. This is not a warm, gentle vibe, but it is sparkling with new potential. If you want to cut loose and start fresh, this is your time. Just be prepared to cauterize whatever came before, because Aquarius does not look back.
This New Moon will be proceeded by the Mars (ruler of Aries) conjunction to Neptune (in Pisces) on January 19th. Neptune is another great releaser, although it dissolves instead of cauterizing. Mars/Neptune can also be a new chapter (conjunctions are new beginnings). Also on January 19th, Venus at 19 degrees Aquarius will oppose Jupiter Rx in Leo, pointing to a culmination of social visibility, acting out for attention, or radical displays. Jupiter in Leo (even though it's Rx) will push Venus in Aquarius along the most visible, social path (Aquarius is the sign of the collective).
All this builds to, and releases, just before the New Moon, which will be a new, untried, unsure chapter. New Moons are dark Moons, so nothing is clear or guaranteed. Think brave new world or the first, shaky steps of liberation. Aquarius (in your chart) will be the place where it's all happening, with secondary action in Pisces and Aries/Libra. The public launch, the new social identity, or the start of your journey into the fringes. This Moon will sextile Saturn at 2 degrees Sag, so there will be some support (wisdom) from the Sagittarius area of your chart. Something that you already know, or that's been proven, will be your touchstone. Lean on those Saturn certainties, even if they manifest as limits.
On January 21st, Mercury (at 21 degrees Aquarius) stations Rx, giving you pause just as you bust out of the New Moon's gate. I'll write about this tomorrow.
If you have anything from 0 to 3 degrees of the Fixed signs, you'll feel this New Moon most strongly. 18 to 20 degrees of the Fixed signs will feel the Venus/Jupiter opposition.
