The next major aspect coming up is an opposition between Mars in Virgo and Neptune Rx in Pisces (at 7 degrees from October 1st to October 6th).
Mars in Virgo wants precise actions and examination of the details. Neptune wants to blur the details. Neptune's illusions/idealism can undermine or elevate Mars.
There are a few ways this can shake out:
- Neptune drains Mars' initiative, resulting in procrastination/victim syndrome masquerading as perfectionism (I'll never be ready/good enough)
- Neptune sends Mars down the rabbit hole of obsessive correction, erasing the "error" so many times that a hole is rubbed in the paper (and you realize there never was an error)
- Neptune tempts Mars into questionable actions
- Neptune loosens Mars' grip, creating space for a full exhale and limitless possibilities
What all these potentials have in common is Neptune's expansion of Mars' actions. Things are no longer exact, and that's where Mars' energy is diluted, or transformed into a creative leap that transcends what you thought was possible. In keeping with the seesaw energy of the opposition, there can be a complete denial of what needs to be done, or a feverish pursuit of the dream.
How will you know if you're on the right path? If you hear a whisper that encourages you to move forward with your passion...you may be on the right track. This could be your moment to leap over the negativity, the what ifs, the myopic calculations, and just do it. Trouble is, it's difficult to know if the Neptune path is the right path for you, or a time-wasting detour. So add in these lower Neptune, energy suckers to avoid: chasing after someone who's unavailable, avoiding obligations in favour of fantasies, throwing all your effort into someone's potential while ignoring their reality.
Mars/Neptune can result in spillage, where efforts are "accidentally" wasted or self-destructive. All you wanted to do was___, but somehow you ended up with ____ . It's almost unpredictable, but not really. You deal with a Mars/Neptune opposition by getting very clear on what your intentions are (no white lies allowed) and then scrupulously avoiding anything/anyone that feels questionable. See, with Neptune, you know right from wrong (especially when Virgo's involved). You know what's good for you, and what isn't. The red flag is there, the queasy gut feeling, the "I know I shouldn't be doing this but..."
Neptune makes it easy to ignore what you know.
If you have natal or progressed planets, angles or Nodes from 4 to 8 degrees of the Mutable signs, you'll feel this opposition most strongly.
