The last lunation of 2016 is a New Moon at 7 degrees Capricorn. It will take place on the evening of December 28th/morning of December 29th, depending on your time zone.
This New Moon will conjoin Mercury Rx (at 6 degrees). Mercury's exact conjunction with the Sun will occur on December 28th. Reviews of existing structures, rules and conditioning will clarify something. And this will result in a new beginning. Even delays can be illuminating.
Mercury's Rx will continue until January 8th, so this New Moon will not be the best time to launch anything major. The delays may continue, and there will be more questions. But it does suggest a moment to start planning (Capricorn) ahead, since Uranus will station direct in Aries, on December 29th. When the planet of liberation moves forward, it's time to consider your next step. Too, Uranus direct can trigger abrupt acceleration (and dispassionate clarity) so what this New Moon shows you may hit with a flash. But it's in Capricorn, so you can trust that it will be real and reliable.
In my post on Mercury Rx, I described the involvement of Mars - how the shift in communication/thinking was aligned with a shift in action. That involvement is seen on this Moon, which makes a supportive sextile to Mars in Pisces (Mercury Rx makes an exact sextile to Mars on December 28th). The sextile is harmonious, so there should be a clear understanding of what action is needed. And the action will be easy to take. This is not a pushy influence - no dramatic leaps or assaults on the system. Rather, think of quietly preparing for when Mercury stations direct. And calmly making adjustments, in light of what this Moon reveals. You're not sitting still - you're moving with focused, measured caution.
A sextile from Mars is energizing, but not aggressive. Mercury Rx and the Moon can ground Mars in Pisces' vague impulses, and give them shape. You won't have all the answers (a New Moon is still dark), but a picture will be emerging, and you'll be able to work with it. The overall feeling is, it will be doable.
There will be an exact square between Saturn in Sagittarius and Chiron in Pisces (21 degrees) on December 28th. Saturn is Capricorn's ruler, so this connects it to the New Moon. The reality/truth/limit that's revealed will not feel great. This is not a celebratory beginning. Maybe a dream will be disproven, and it will hurt. Or, you may feel vulnerable in the face of new responsibilities. It will be Saturn-style sober, delivered with Uranus direct's harsh light. But you'll be equipped to handle it. You'll have the intel and the initiative, and you won't have to do anything overwhelming. You can start gradually, and take it as it comes. Remember that Mercury Rx will have more to reveal.
5 to 8 degrees of the Cardinal signs, and Pisces, will feel this New Moon most strongly.
