The May 6th New Moon in Taurus (16 degrees) is part of a bountiful Grand Earth Trine that includes Pluto Rx (17 degrees Capricorn), Jupiter Rx (13 degrees Virgo) and the North Node (20 degrees Virgo).
Grand Earth Trines are fantastic for manifesting. The trine aspect is a smooth flow of energy (path of least resistance plus unbroken momentum) and Earth=making it real. So your New Moon intentions will have extra oomph. This will be a new beginning that you can build on with a fair amount of ease. Things should fall into place naturally. If there is a struggle, it's not going to happen. What begins will be reassuring, with significant long-term potential. Resources/security (Taurus) can see slow growth (Jupiter) and enhancement (Pluto).
But isn't Mercury Rx? And ruler of that North Node? How can you start something new under an Rx transit (with Pluto and Jupiter Rx to boot)? Well, it probably won't be brand new. More likely it will be a new chapter in an existing situation, or a previous situation that has returned. The key is Mercury Rx's revision/rethink.
- Dig beneath an apparently simple structure
- Question something you've been taking for granted
- Go back and ask again
- Question the value of what you have, or want
- Look at a basic assumption from a different angle
Taurus can get so comfy that stagnation sets in, and Mercury Rx aims to question that comfort. This process can open a door that has always been in front of you (but you just didn't see it). It can confirm, solidify, and reassure.
Mercury Rx in Taurus can pay dividends, and this New Moon will make that clear. To me, it feels like going back to a spot and digging a bit deeper. That's when you hit pay dirt. Despite the potential for bounty, this is a quiet Moon. Taurus is not loud or flashy. The treasure is solid, simple and just what you need.
The one point of tension will be Saturn Rx (at 15 degrees Sagittarius) making a tense inconjunct to the New Moon (and square to Jupiter). You may run up against an existing rule, limitation or obligation. Saturn won't shut things down completely, because a Grand Earth Trine is like a freight train with all that solid momentum. But Saturn will pinch you, and you'll have to factor in where you can't go or what's not quite enough. Then again, this New Moon may provide a new workaround to an old barrier. Remember that Saturn Rx is redefining something, and that process will be pinged during this New Moon.
This Grand Trine is a big deal. It actually begins on May 3rd, as the Taurus Sun trines Jupiter Rx (at 13 degrees) and stretches out until June 1st. Mercury's Rx and direct movement, plus Venus in Taurus, will extend the trine as they aspect Pluto, Jupiter and the North Node. I'll write a separate post on this.
If you have anything from 14 to 20 degrees of the Fixed or Earth signs, you'll feel this New Moon most strongly. 15 to 16 degrees Sagittarius may also feel this Moon.
