I am a couple of days late with this one: Ceres entered Leo on September 24th. The nurturing stakes have increased, as a special purpose or creative/romantic goal is nourished.
This transit is about encouraging pride and play, either in yourself, or in someone (a child?) who is being nurtured. Sustenance is drawn from the response of the "audience." Nurturing joy and self-confidence are themes, achieved via an increase in personal power. A hug is no longer enough - there must be applause and admiration for the talent, beauty or self-expression.
Keeping in mind Ceres' connection to the cycles of nurturing and loss, challenging manifestations may include loss of confidence and lack of attention, perhaps through the "death" of your moment in the spotlight. If your creative or romantic situation has dried up, Ceres may be telling you that this particular cycle is over. Nothing lasts forever.
Too, if someone else becomes the sole vehicle for your self-esteem, this can be a manifestation of distorted Ceres (for example, the domineering stage mother). There's a fine line between making someone your pride and joy versus making them your sole purpose. If everything you are is dependent on the accomplishments of your partner or child, you're missing the point of Leo. Ultimately, you want to be recognized for what you can contribute. Or, you want to nurture this concept in someone else (what they can contribute) without losing your sense of self.
Ceres will have an extended stay in this sign, as she stations Rx on December 16th, 2017, and goes direct on March 19th, 2018.
Ceres enters Virgo on June 18th, 2018.
