The Sun/Neptune opposition illuminates a sacrifice or disappointment. The opposition means an ending or result, and the Sun will energize it. But Sun in Virgo wants things to be precise and Neptune blurs the edges. So this ending/result may be a fadeaway with questions about what's actually happening. This will not be a clear issue.
Neptune encourages you to let go but Sun in Virgo energizes a specific fact or solution. What you think is effective may not be. Or, you may have to sacrifice what you "know" is correct because it can't be proven. On the plus side, this influence can be immensely compassionate with the goal of selfless service and ultimate healing for another.
This is not the moment for ego - you won't receive recognition. Your task is to differentiate between fantasy and reality, service and sacrifice. There can be a strong martyr vibe to this, but that's a distorted manifestation of the Virgo/Pisces axis. There is something that you'll have to give up or release, but that thing does not have to be your wellbeing.
Mercury in Virgo activates this opposition on September 13th, so you'll be revisiting the issue.
Mercury's aspects to Saturn and Uranus reactivate the Grand Earth Trine from August 23rd to August 25th. Mercury will put those previous potentials into words - new (Uranus) ideas are given structure and focus (Saturn). In the previous Grand Trine, Saturn was Rx. Now Saturn is direct, so you can move forward with those new rules/new goals and your progress will be fueled by words. Put it in writing or say it - this is the time for a commitment, plan or any idea you want to make real.
This influence can ground you if you're confronted by the Sun/Neptune opposition. When there's confusion or dissolution, turn to what you know and build on that (even though you may be confronted by questions on September 13th).
This opposition will point out an area of severe imbalance when it comes to an exchange of nurturing. Giving or receiving unconditional care will be fraught with reminders of vulnerabilities, loss, the care you never received as a child, or how you're not being nurtured now. Too, you may be expected to give in a situation where you're hurting because you've been taken advantage of.
Not a happy influence, and in some ways this echoes the Sun/Neptune opposition. There's a sense of nurturing in spite of the pain, or perhaps finding a way to rise above what hurts. Whether this is the best course of action is up to you. Sometimes you have to rise above it and put a smile (Libra) on your face. Other times you have to pull away from the person who's hurting you. Remember, you do not have to be a victim. You always have a choice. Check in with the Grand Earth Trine - what facts do you know? What can you rely on?
